Ensuring biosecurity matter and risks are being appropriately managed in line with legislative requirements and/or Council’s Biosecurity Plan/Programs. These Biosecurity Programs will be conducted in accordance with approved policies, procedures and legislative requirements. The Biosecurity Programs are approved to operate for a period of 3 years unless amended by Council resolution. These programs apply to all land (inclusive of that both privately and publically owned) within the North Burnett Region (as defined by Council Boundaries). Council’s authorised Biosecurity Programs include both “Surveillance” and “Prevention and Control” Programs as prescribed under legislation. These Biosecurity Programs were authorised at the Council Meeting held on 15 February 2017. Council’s objective is fundamentally to engage with the community and ensure biosecurity matter and risks are appropriately managed for the greater good of the community, region and state. EXPRESSION OF INTEREST SUPPLIERS TO PROVIDE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS Council resolved on 13 December 2017 to call expressions of interest from suitably qualified suppliers for the purchase of fully integrated performance management software to improve existing strategic and operational reporting as required by the 2017-2022 Corporate Plan. In accordance with section 228(2)(b) of the Local Government Regulation 2012, Councils can invite expressions of interest before considering to invite written tenders. The specification is a one-pager, (will be emailed upon request) you will have to quickly understand Council requirements, based on your experience and expertise. Council has become aware of many instances where building work in the region has not been approved and extends an invitation to all property owners in the North Burnett to contact Council to ascertain whether building work that has been performed on their property is lawful. Council’s Development Services team can provide the necessary information to assist in determining if your past, present or future building work requires a building application. Council will be in contact with respective property owners regarding work that is currently known to be unlawful. Unlawful building work can affect a number of matters that you may not be aware of, such as insurance and workers compensation claims, public liability and the potential inability to sell your property. Council’s Development Services team look forward to working with you to ensure any structures on your property are compliant.
