May 2018 2018 CATALOG SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT MAJOR (18 credits) May 2018 Supply Đhain ŵanagement is an integrated program of study concerned with the efficient flow of materials, products, and information within and among organizations. Supply chain management involves the integration of business processes across organizations, from material sources and suppliers through manufacturing, and processing to the final customer. The program provides students with the core knowledge related to a wide variety of supply chain activities, including demand planning, purchasing, transportation management, warehouse management, inventory control, material handling, product and service support, information technology, and strategic supply chain management. The study of Ɛupply Đhain ŵanagement prepares students for professional careers with manufacturers, retail distributors, logistics service providers, including carriers and non-asset based 3PLs, and consulting firms. The curriculum provides the required theoretical and conceptual base and analytical methods for making sound operational and strategic business decisions related to all activities in a supply chain. The major requires students to complete 18 credits in courses chosen from the following: Supply Chain Management Required Core (15 credits) Course Prerequisites SCM 424 Process Management, Analysis, and Control SCM 301 SCM 453 Supply Chain Planning and Control SCM 301 SCM 460 Decision Tools for Logistics and Operations Management SCM 301 SCM 461 Principles of Transportation SCM 301 SCM 486 Principles of Purchasing and Supply Management SCM 301 Elective Coursework (minimum of 3 credits) SCM 340 (MIS 340) Project Management Credit or enrollment in MIS 301 SCM 428 Special Topics in Operations Management SCM 301 SCM 434 Implementing Process Improvement SCM 424 SCM 440 (MIS 440) Supply Chain Information Systems SCM 301, MIS 301 SCM 450 (MIS 450) Enterprise Resource Planning Systems in Supply Chain SCM 301, MIS 301; or IE 148, 341 SCM 462 Transportation Carrier Management Credit or enrollment in SCM 461 SCM 466 International Transportation and Logistics SCM 301 SCM 471X Sustainable Supply Chain Management SCM 301 SCM 491 International Live Case and Study Tour SCM 301 SCM 495 SCM Case Competition SCM 301 Other Graduation Requirements (for full degree requirements see your degree audit or the curriculum guide): 1. Minimum of 122 credits total; 2. 42 credits of 300 level or higher coursework from a fourͲyear institution; 3. Grade of “C” or better in ENGL 250, and in two of the three required English courses; 4. Grade of “C” or better in at least 30 credits applied to the business core and major; 5. 50% of required business courses must be earned at Iowa State University; 6. The last 32 credits applied to a degree must be taken at ISU (exceptions for Ɛtudy Ăbroad and ŝnternship may be requested); 7. All 300 level and higher business credits must be earned at a four-year college; 8. Cumulative ISU grade point of at least 2.0 with no quality point deficiencies; 9. Multiple business majors must have at least 15 distinct credits in each; when applicable, one course can be shared between business majors; see adviser regarding multiple business degree requirements.

Supply hain anagement is an integrated program of study concerned with the efficient flow of materials, products, and information within and among organizations.
