Lots of great things going on for 2018 year and pumped up to tell you about it. Starting with the Walk on the Hill (Sons project) , Silver Helmet Award Ceremony and NEC meeting taking place March 5 - 10. Hope to see some of you there. SPECIAL OLYMPICS Next we have the Special Basket ball Olympics. Ladies - you know how rewarding IT IS Volunteering at the Bowling Olympics in December? Well, Well, we need the same for the Basketball Event also. We need many hands to help with this AWESOME EVENT! We’re HOOSIERS! We Love Basketball! . Here is a short message I received from Mike Davis: I've forwarded this to you all from Special Olympics Indiana. Please get this info out to as many folks as you can. Since the 3rd District used to do all games (or at least most of the games) on Sunday, all folks close to Indy will need to help out for coverage. There may be 5 or more courts going at once this year so we will need a big turnout. There is a form from Special Olympics for volunteers to fill out but that is for scorers, time keepers, etc. We in the AMVETS family will just sign in like we always have. Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday Morning March 24th, “Ben Davis High School,1200 N Girls School Rd, 46214 in Indianapolis. Start time on Saturday is 9: 00 am Sunday is 10 am. (The Clarion Airport, 2500 S High School Rd. Indianapolis IN. (317) 244-3361 is honoring AMVET rates for this event) ALSO….Post #99 will be serving Dinner Sat - Mar. 24 at 6 p.m. - Chicken, Meatloaf, Potatoes, green beans, salad, roll, & desert for $7. Dress for Saturday is casual - jeans with no holes. We are working on having lunch brought into our meeting (for free) served by the hotel so we can be immediately available to attend the “Special Meeting” (See below) Following that meeting, we will be taking Madam President on a Field Trip to visit our War Memorial and possibly the USS Indianapolis (weather permitting & time). All Auxiliary Ladies are Welcome !

- Please take note that there will be a Special Meeting for ALL MEMBERS - held in the AMVETS Room at 1 p.m. on Saturday. It is expected that ALL MEMBERS ATTEND. An outside Firm will help with Conflict Management Course - on issues that arise out of our local posts and more. Make sure you are present. Thank you. This will benefit all of us.

Ladies,Just a few reminders as we wind down this year. Deadline for 2018 Membership is May. I must have the membership by May 20 in order to process and send to Judy so she can get it to National by May 31. All annual memberships turned are now considered new members. They keep their same membership number but are considered new members.If you want me to file your 990 this year please let me know. I will probably be doing them the first of April so I can bring your copies to the SEC.I have not received the revalidation kit yet. Will get them out as soon as I receive them.Hope to see you at the SEC. Ladies, we do have a very productive meeting but we also have fun. I believe you would enjoy yourselves if you would just come and give us a chance. We are all in this together and together we can make our communities, our children and

Scholarship: I'm still not receiving all Auxiliaries reports! Would love to see more reporting! Hope all Auxiliaries remembered supported our National Scholarship in February (National Scholarship Month)! Also any auxiliary that has someone submitting a state scholarship application must have it postmarked by March 15th..I have yet to receive any! Please don't forget as you are funding your local scholarships to also please help our State Scholarship program! There will be another Vendor Fair at the Cedar Lake Post on March 10 to support our local and state scholarship fund..please join us for a fun day of shopping!
