2018 RESIDENT SUMMER MISSIONARIES
Mark & Helen Begarly, serving with Zimbabwe Outreach Ministries will be our 2018 summer resident missionar-
ies. They will interact with campers this summer teaching them about life as a missionary
and the work God is doing in Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe Outreach Ministries has served Zimbabwe since 1996. While enor-
mous growth and setbacks have occurred over the past 20+ years, the Lord continues
to use this work to spread his love and grace to the people of Zimbabwe. The focus for
Zimbabwe Outreach Ministries is to reach the lost for Christ and train them to run the
ministries in turn reaching their own people for Christ. This Christ-centered ministry strives
to give empowerment and ownership to the people of Zimbabwe; they in turn devel-
op vision and create ministries that spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to their own country.
One of the works of this mission is Hunnington Christian Camp and Retreat Center. Camp-
ers this summer will have the opportunity to give towards this camp ministry.

2018 SUMMER CAMP THEME… IN AWE
Psalm 33:8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; “Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe
of Him.” Our theme this year is “In Awe”. The Stand is a popular worship song at
camp right now. This song asks what our response should be to God who spoke life
into motion, and to Jesus who carried our sin and shame on his shoulders. All we can
do is offer our hearts completely to Him. “So I’ll, stand with arms high and heart aban-
doned, in awe of the One who gave it all. I’ll stand, my soul, Lord, to You surrendered. All I am
is Yours.” What better place to consider what our response should be than at camp.
What better place to consider the works of our Creator God than in a natural setting,
at camp! That’s what we are about….
MEMORIAL HALL MAKEOVER… ADOPT A ROOM
Part of our Strategic Ministry Plan is to update high traffic and highly visible areas of the camp. In the spring of 2017,
work began in Memorial Hall Fireplace Room with fresh paint, wainscot, new artwork, and updated fireplace hard-
ware. This was the first in a series of renovations to Memorial Hall taking place over the next three years. In addi-
tion to the Fireplace Room, the lobby, upper level sleeping rooms, and bathrooms will get a makeover. New handi-
capped restrooms will also be constructed. We need your help! We are asking churches, small groups, families, and
Sunday School classes to Adopt A Room. Help fund this project and come help us makeover a room. For more in-
formation on how you can assist, contact Matt: [email protected] .
We are currently taking resumes for a full-time Food Service Manager. You can mail your resume to the camp
address or email it to Matt Love at [email protected]. We are also hiring summer camp staff: Assistant Cooks,
Housekeepers, Lifeguards and Management Assistants. Please contact the camp for an application or find it
on our website at www.ljca.org. Summer staff is a great opportunity for college students needing a summer job!
