Q & A -----------------------------------
Psalm 147:2-3 – “Yahweh is rebuilding Yerushalayim, gathering
together the exiled people of Israel, healing broken hearts, and
binding up their wounds.”
The Rebirth Of Israel: Isaiah 66:8 — “Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth
be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she
brought forth her children.”
Israel was born in a day on May 14, 1948. No other nation has been resurrected in such a manner, and
particularly not in their ancient location.
Britain was the primary nation behind the Jews being able to return to the land. Is it just coincidence that the
distance between what is believed to be the cornerstone of the Holy of Holies on the Temple Mount and the
London Stone at the center of London is 1948.4 nautical miles?
What is the key to understanding end time prophecy?
Israel is that “fig tree” that is to be watched!
The Fig Tree and All the Trees
Yahweh is obviously bringing the world to His prophesied conclusion, and fulfilling His promises to Abraham
and his descendants that He made thousands of years ago. And Israel still has the task of being a light to the
Gentiles to complete: Revelation 7:3-8 speaks of the 144,000 witnesses that will be taken from every tribe. Our
task is to be aware of the signs of the times. Watch Israel, for Israel is the key to God’s timetable.
Throughout scripture, both nations and individuals are symbolized as trees. Judges 9:8-16 uses trees to
describe Abimelech and the houses of Jerubbaal and Millo, Jotham, and the people of Shechem. Daniel 4:10-
28 uses the image of a tree to represent Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel 10:33 talks of Assyria as the top boughs of a
tree. Isaiah 55:12-13 uses tree imagery to depict the many peoples who will clap their hands with joy when the
thorns and biers become fir and myrtle trees at His coming. Ezekiel 31:3-15 depicts Assyria as a cedar tree,
and the other nations as fir, chestnut, and other trees. Zechariah 11:1-4 repeats this theme, also depicting
Assyria (Lebanon) as a cedar trees, and the peoples of Bashan as oaks. Ezekiel 17:1-24 calls Babylon a cedar
tree that spreads itself out like a willow tree.
In order to understand the time of His imminent return, one must first determine who that fig tree represents.
Hosea 9:10 states that the patriarchs are the firstfruits of the fig tree. Joel 1:6-7 tells us that Israel is the ruined
fig tree whose bark has been stripped ethnically, nationally, and geographically. Jeremiah 24:2-8 states that
the good figs are those Jews who went into captivity, and the bad figs those Jews who rebelled against the
Babylonians or who went down to Egypt.
Luke 13:6-9 expounds upon the vineyard spoken of in Isaiah 5:1-7. Luke tells us that the fruit is from the fig
tree in the vineyard (see especially verse 7). In Matthew 21:19, Yeshua curses the fig tree. In this passage, the
fig tree specifically is a representation of the Jewish leadership from whom He had expected to find some fruit
after three years of teaching in the Temple, but also has the wider representation of the nation of Israel and the
land of Israel as well, which forty years later began to wither and die. Both the nation and the land remained
dead until the Jews began to return in the early 1900s.
Luke 21:29-31 – Look at the fig tree and all the trees; as soon as they begin to bud you know that summer is
and the kingdom of God is already near.
Luke speaks of both the fig tree and all the trees. These trees represent both Israel and the Arab and Persian
nations that sprouted up at about the same time, after the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1917: Afghanistan 1919,
Egypt 1922, Saudi Arabia & Iraq 1932, Iran 1935, Lebanon 1943, Syria & Jordan 1946, and Israel 1948. The
United States established diplomatic relations with Egypt in 1922 following its independence from protectorate
status under the United Kingdom, but it wasn’t until 1952 that the Egyptian revolution made Egypt a republic
and the British advisers were expelled. Still, in 1922 Egypt had begun to put forth its buds, along with all the
other Arab, Jewish, and Persian states.
And are not these the nations that are constantly in daily news reports at this time? Are not these the very same
nations listed in Psalm 83 as those nations that come against Israel to wipe her off the map:
The Tents of Edom, and Moab, and Ammonites are the Palestinians and Jordanians.
The Tents of Gebal and Tyre are the Lebanese and Hezbollah
The Ishmaelites are the Arab Saudis and those from Amalek are the Arabs from the Sinai area.
The Philistia are the Hamas of the Gaza Strip
The Hagrites are the Hagarenes, or Egyptians.
Clearly, the generation that has seen both the fig tree and all the trees put forth their branches is our generation.
Q & A ----------------------------------- Can anyone name the four primary prophecies that have been fulfilled for centuries?
Can anyone name the top seven? How about the top ten?
Can anyone (besides Ken Johnson) name any prophecies that were fulfilled in 1948?
The Rebirth Of Israel: Isaiah 66:8 — “Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth
be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she
brought forth her children.” Israel was born in a day on May 14, 1948. No other nation has been resurrected in
such a manner, and particularly not in their ancient location. Truman’s decision to recognize Israel was
announced to the world 11 minutes after Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion declared the nation’s
independence.
The Hebrew Language Is Recovered: Zephaniah 3:9 — “For then will I turn to the people a pure language,
that they may all call upon the name of Yahweh, to serve him with one accord.” The revival of the Hebrew
language began in the late 19th century primarily through the efforts of Eliezer Ben-Yehuda and his followers,
who created the first Hebrew-speaking schools, newspapers, and other Hebrew-language institutions. In 1982
the Hebrew Language was adapted as one of the official languages of Israel. There are no other examples of an
ancient language being revived and then becoming a national language. Every person making Aliyah to Israel
must learn Hebrew. Lawmakers have proposed a bill defining Hebrew the sole official language and define
Israel as "the national home of the Jewish people."
Israel Establishes A Powerful Military: Zechariah 12:6 — “In that day I will make the clans of Judah like a
firepot among pieces of wood and a flaming torch among sheaves, so they will consume on the right hand and
on the left all the surrounding peoples, while the inhabitants of Jerusalem again dwell on their own sites in
Jerusalem.” The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) consist of Ground Forces, Air Force, and Navy. It is responsible
for developing weaponry, either independently or in cooperation with the US, such as on the F-15I jet, the Galil
and Tavor assault rifles, the Merkava Mark 4 tank, the Iron Dome laser defense system, and the Arrow II
Interceptor anti-missile defense system. The Israel Defense Force is one of the most successful and powerful
militaries in the world.
Can anyone (besides Ken Johnson) name any prophecies that were fulfilled between 1948 and 1990?
Operation Solomon – Isaiah 11:11 “On that day Adonai will raise his hand again, a second time, to reclaim
the remnant of his people who remain from Ashur, Egypt, Patros, Ethiopia, ‘Eilam, Shin‘ar, Hamat and the
islands in the sea.”
The largest Jewish population to the south of Jerusalem in the mid-20th Century consisted of the Black Jews of
Ethiopia. In the late 1980s the Jews of Ethiopia began to feel a tug on their hearts to return to the Jewish
homeland. In response, they started migrating to Addis Ababa by the thousands where they camped out around
the international airport, demanding transportation to Israel. The government adamantly refused to let them
leave, in fulfillment of the prophecy in Isaiah 43:6 which states that the Jews in the south will be held back.
In 1991 the United States and Israel intervened, providing bribes to military leaders. The government then
relented and provided a 48 hour window of time for the refugees to depart. The resulting airlift in May was
amazing. In just under 36 hours, 14,500 Ethiopian Jews - nearly the entire Jewish population - was flown to Tel
Aviv in 40 flights involving 35 aircraft. At one point there were 28 planes in the air at one time. And a world
record was set when one El Al Boeing 747, designed to carry about 350 people, was loaded up with 1,086
passengers. This was possible because all the seats had been stripped out of the plane, the Ethiopians weighed
very little, and they had no luggage. When that particular plane reached Tel Aviv, there was a total of 1,088 on
board because two babies had been born en route!
Can anyone (besides Ken Johnson) name any prophecies that were fulfilled between 2000 and today?
The Desolate Land Becomes Fertile: Isaiah 27:6; “The time is coming when Jacob’s descendants will take
root. Israel will bud and blossom and fill the whole earth with fruit!” Professor Daniel Hillel invented the
micro-irrigation processes, which carries water through narrow plastic pipes to plants, where it drips or trickles
onto the roots in a continuous way, has turned the deserts into a gardens. Irrigation systems have allowed Israel
to improve farming and to become one of the largest exporters of citrus fruits, flowers, and other agricultural
items, and has revolutionized agricultural and food production practices in over thirty other countries. During the past
century, more than 200 million trees have been planted in Israel (Isaiah 41:18-20). Volunteers from many
countries help in these efforts (Isaiah 61:45, Zephaniah 2, Ezekiel 36:33-36). The land of Israel, which had
been desolate for centuries, is no longer barren.
The Sanhedrin will be reconvened: Matthew 24:15-20 In October 2004 the Sanhedrin was reestablished for
the first time in 1,600 years during a ceremony in Tiberius on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee and was
was reconvened in 2005. Since that time all of the utensils and garments needed for Temple worship have been
either recovered or remanufactured. Two hundred Kohanim have been identified and are being trained in the
proper way to reinstitute animal sacrifices. The temple building itself has be prefabricated and can be rebuilt as
soon as permission is given to do so. The breeding program for the red heifer has been established. The Israeli
Sanhedrin in 2016 called on Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin to “join forces and fulfill their biblically
mandated roles by rebuilding the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.”
Satellite TV and Communications: Revelation 17:8 Today, Israel is one of the largest exporters of machinery
and equipment, software, cut diamonds, chemicals, textiles and apparel. Its primary export partners are the
United States, the European Union, Hong Kong, India and Turkey. Microsoft, Cisco, Intel, Motorola and other
tech companies have all moved their research development facilities to Israel. Microsoft-Israel developed the
Windows NT software. Intel-Israel designed the Pentium MMX Chip. Instant messenger and voice mail
programs were developed by Israeli software companies. Motorola-Israel developed the cell phone. Givun
Imaging-Israel invented the pill sized ingestible video camera.
What about those last three prophecies about the Euphrates River, a military highway that appears
across Asia, and the oil, natural gas, and other riches found beneath the sand?
What is Israel’s future. Are there any fun facts about Israel or the Israeli military? Can you name any?
Hosea 3:4-5 — Israel is back in the land. They have a government. And once again, they seek to rebuild the
temple and worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Isaiah 31:5 — (We talked earlier about the Allenby prophecies).
Joel 2:5 — The word used for chariots in Joel is ה בָּ merkabah [H4818]. It is interesting to note that the ֶמְרכָּ
Israelis have developed a tank they call the Merkavah which is designed to leap over the hills and rocks, and
shoots a flame when it fires weapons and missiles.
Jeremiah 51:11 — Sharpen the arrows, take up the shields!
Zechariah 9:14 — Then the LORD will appear over them; his arrow will flash like lightning.
The Hebrew literally translated is: Make bright the arrows, gather the shields. The words bright, and arrow are
ַרר chets [H2671]. The Israelis have developed a missile called the Arrow (Chets) II ֵחץ barar [H1305] and בָּ
Interceptor. It looks like a bright arrow or falling meteor when in flight. This could put a new twist on
Matthew 24:29, which says: “the stars (shooting stars, meteors) will fall from the sky”.
Zechariah 14:12 — The United States and Israel have developed a bomb known as the Neutron Bomb. The
effects of the bomb are exactly as described in Zechariah 14:12. It destroys bodies but leaves infrastructure
untouched.
What is a biblical generation? Can anyone name some generational ties to Israel?
The first Zionist Congress was held in the concert hall of the Basil
Municipal Casino on August 29, 1897. This date is 120 years from Elul 1,
2017. The congress was called together by Theodore Herzl for those who
sympathized with Zionist goals as a symbolic parliament.
Consider, to begin with, the most prolific futuristic prophecy in the Hebrew Scriptures — namely, that in the
end times the Jewish people will be re-gathered in unbelief from the four corners of the earth.
This re-gathering began in the late 19th Century when Theodor Herzl wrote his book, The Jewish State, in
which he advocated that the time had come for the Jews to return to their homeland. In 1900 there were only
40,000 Jews in Israel. By the end of World War II this number had risen to 800,000. Today, it stands at nearly 6
million. The Jews continue to come, but there is no doubt this is a prophecy that is being fulfilled before our
very eyes.
The Balfour Declaration was written on the same day that Noah’s flood
began – on the 17th of Chesvan on the Biblical Calendar. Our calendar
date was November 2, 1917.
The Balfour Declaration of 1917 began the process that allowed Israel to become a nation. Many Jews tried to
immigrate to Israel (Palestine), but over time the British (who were in charge of a Mandate government in the
region) began to become hostile towards Israel, and purposely instituted policies that made it quite difficult for
many Jews to immigrate to Israel.
In 1939, the British government put forth a new White Paper in an attempt to appease the local Arab population.
Among other things, the White Paper of 1939 put significant restrictions on the numbers of Jews who would be
allowed to immigrate to Israel; for all intents and purposes the White Paper closed the gates to Jewish
immigration. Today Britain is no longer the dominant world power.
After World War II, The British, who controlled Palestine, decided to stop Jewish immigration by sending ships
loaded with Jewish refugees back to their ports of embarkation in Europe. The first ship to which this policy
was applied was the Exodus 1947. The ship sailed from a port in France on July 11, 1947, with 4,515
immigrants, including 655 children, on board. On July 18, near the coast of Palestine a British destroyer
rammed the ship and boarded it, while the immigrants put up a desperate defense. Two immigrants and a
crewman were killed in the battle, and 30 were wounded. The ship was towed to Haifa, where the immigrants
were loaded onto deportation ships bound for France. The French government refused to force them off the
boat. Eventually, the British decided to return the would-be immigrants to Germany!
Psalm 90:10 “The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if
by reason of strength they be fourscore years.”
The United Nations Resolution 181 was signed on September 3, 1947.
UN Resolution 181 called for two independent states to be formed after the end of the British Mandate, one
Jewish and one Arab. Israel is that Jewish state, the fig tree, and she bloomed once again, prophetically in
1948, when she became a nation as declared by David Ben-Gurion and ratified by the UN charter. That is when
the 70-year time clock began once again to tick for the generation who would also see the Lord’s return.
Jerusalem was recaptured in June of 1967.
The liberation of Jerusalem in the Six Day War of 1967 began the countdown for the year of Jubilee. What is
the year of Jubilee? It is the definition of property rights and land ownership, the freeing of slaves but more
important it is the beginning and end of the generation.
I take you to the definition found in Strongs #1755 and the Hebrew word “dowr” which describes the meaning
of the Jubilee as, “period, generation, dwelling, age and habitation.”
If you take the capture of Jerusalem as returned to the Jewish people and the nation of Israel from 1967-1968,
adding 50 years, you come to the end of that generation -- that is also the end of the length of a generation
according to scripture, and they both fall in the year 2017.
Matthew 24:32-33 – “Now let the fig tree teach you its lesson: when its branches begin to sprout and leaves
appear, you know that summer is approaching In the same way, when you see all these things, you are to know
that the time is near, right at the door” (See also Mark 13:28-29; and Luke 21:29-31).
