This week in Pre-Kindy we had our Letterland party. It was a lot of fun and the children looked fantastic! We started with a Bible quiz about what we have learnt so far this year, then we had our treasure hunt. We had to think about the clues carefully to find the next clue. We found our treasure at the end of the field, and we had to do a bit of searching to find it. Next we posed for our photo, then it was time for our pass the parcel! We had to think of words that start with the letter sound on each layer. Mrs Miller made us a lovely fruit platter for our fruit break. Pr Daron came and made us some twisted balloons and we had to think what sound our balloon shape started with. We had a yummy shared lunch, with lots of creative foods starting with our Letterland character’s sound. After lunch, Firefighter Fred (Maddie) brought along her fire truck, and we had a fire safety lesson from the Cooranbong Rural Fire Brigade. Then it was on to explore the fire truck, and have a turn with the fire hoses. It was the ‘best day ever’ according to the Pre-Kindy children. In history we have been learning about how photos can tell us about the past, and how it is important to have a caption with them to explain what is happening in the photo. In Bible time we have been learning about the story where Jesus blessed the little children, and how the kingdom of heaven is especially for children. Next week we have our Oakvale farm excursion, and we are all looking forward to that. Don’t forget your swimmers and towel.

Have a great week everyone.

Campus Coordinator’s MessageSchool has been buzzing with plenty of activity lately and it has been great to see the joy on the students’ faces as they participated in the fire truck visit, the first swimming lesson for the term, bicycle safety training, the Letterland party and more. With only a few weeks of school left for the year, plans are already coming together for Speech Night. Please plan to attend this special event as it will be a time of celebrating the year together and also thanking God for the many blessings He has poured out on our school this year. The date to save is Wednesday, 5 December and the program will begin at 7 pm. See you there!I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you very much for supporting our garden program by purchasing produce we have harvested. We have such a won-derful time learning all about taking care of plants and we are very proud to be able to share our yummy

kale, spinach, potatoes and other produce with you. As you know, our garden has been expanding and this is so exciting. One of the next projects will be to create a special learning space under the shelter by the shed. We received a gift (whiteboard) to place in that area and for this we are truly thankful. This week’s value is ‘integrity’ and it simply means doing the right thing even when we think that no one is watching. I am always keen to see what the Bible has to say about our values and in 2 Corinthi-ans 8:21 it says, “For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man”. In 1 Samuel we find the story of Samuel who led Israel with such integrity. In fact, in his farewell speech he promised to repay anything he had unjustly taken from anyone. Not one per-son made a claim against Samuel. The people knew

they could trust their leader. He didn’t just speak the right words or do the right things, h i s heart was right with God and what he was on the inside matched the person he was on the outside. Is there anyone you can trust? God will never let us down and His promises never fail. In Hebrews 13:8 it says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever”. God is integrity.sponsible for taking care of it.

This week started our terms swimming lessons. It was a very warm day so the students were really looking forward to spending some time in the water. Everyone came back saying that they really had a good time.

We have been very busy in class working on different units of work and doing end of year testing. We have also put up our Christmas Tree and are working on decorating it with our beautiful arts and crafts work.

Our garden is exploding with growth in this sunshine and rain. We were able to harvest some potatoes already so were very excited about that. We now have two small trees for our spiny leaf insects and are carefully watching three caterpillars in our butterfly house munch their way through the milkweed leaves.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Proctor family at this time.

Our class had a great time last Friday learning all about bicycle safety. We had a former Olympian come and teach us, thanks to Lake Macquarie City Council. We discovered some important things about riding your bike safely on a road. We had a go at riding bikes on the left side of a course, just like on a real road, and we also discovered that it is very important to indicate when you are turning. We ended the lesson with an awesome game and everyone wanted to play it again! On Thursday we really enjoyed seeing a visiting fire truck. We had a wonderful time getting into the truck and learning all about fire safety. We very much look forward to our Art lessons in the Years 3-6 classroom. Last week we made these amazing scarecrows. A lot of creativity went into them and they look absolutely wonderful. Well done everyone!

We had a fantastic time in swimming on Monday. We went to Morisset Pool and we worked hard to improve our swimming skills. The head swimming instructor was very impressed with our progress. We have been learning about generosity and how there are many examples of this in the Bible. The best example though is how God sent His only Son to die so that we may have eternal life. We are so grateful to God for the love He so generously pours out on each one of us.
