JIE ‘N’ for 2-Year Nitec Courses

For GCE N(A), N(T), O-Level students to apply for

the 2-Year National ITE Certificate (Nitec) courses

conducted by the Institute of Technical Education

(ITE).

GCE N(A), N(T), O-Level students can choose to take

up a course under Full-Time Education or

Traineeship

JIE ‘E’ for 3-Year Nitec Courses

For N(T) students with 0 or 1 GCE N(T)-Level pass to

build the necessary literacy and numeracy

foundations that will enable them to successfully

complete their Nitec course.

JIE ‘H’ for Higher Nitec Courses

For N(A) students with the relevant pre-requisites to

apply for the Higher National ITE Certificate (Higher

Nitec) courses conducted by ITE under DPP.

10-week Preparatory Course + 2 years of Higher Nitec Training

Upon completion, graduates will be assured of a

place in a related Polytechnic Diploma course if they

meet the qualifying criteria for progression.

Joint Intake Exercise

N(T) students may apply for Nitec courses under

both the JIE ‘N’ and JIE ‘E’ intake exercises.

However, you can only receive one offer from either

intake exercises.

N(A) students may apply for both Higher Nitec under

the JIE ‘H’ and Nitec under the JIE ‘N’. However, if

you are offered Higher Nitec course under the JIE

‘H’, you will not be offered a Nitec course under the

JIE ‘N’.

deadlines and step-by-step guidance for JIE

application.

- Form N

This Form N is uniquely printed for you.

The full-time ITE courses you are eligible to apply

based on your GCE N-Level results are indicated

on the Form N.

Please note that offer of a course is based on

merit and vacancy available.

To note:

Sec 4N(A) students who are only interested in

applying for the PFP should first progress to

Sec 5N(A), even if you meet the PFP eligibility

criteria based on your GCE N(A)-Level results in

December 2018.

You may then apply for the PFP upon release of

the GCE O-Level results in January 2019. If your

application is successful, you will withdraw

from Sec 5N(A) by the end of January 2019. You

are required to attend Sec 5N(A) classes till the

last Friday of January 2019.

To note:

Sec 4N(A) students who are only interested in

applying for the DPP should do so once you

receive their GCE N(A)-Level results in

December 2018.

Should you accept a DPP offer, you will not need

to return to school for Sec 5N(A) and start the

10-week DPP preparatory programme at ITE in

January 2019.

To note:

Sec 4N(A) students who are interested in

applying for both the PFP and DPP (sure not

coming back for Sec 5) can …

either apply for DPP once you receive your

GCE N(A)-Level results in Dec 2018. Should you

accept a DPP offer, you will graduate from

school after Sec 4N(A), and start the 10-week

DPP preparatory programme at ITE in Jan 2019.

Upon the release of the GCE O-Level results in

Jan, eligible students will be informed to collect

the PFP eligibility form (Form P) to apply for the

PFP. Should you accept a PFP offer, you will

need to apply for withdrawal from the DPP

immediately.

To note:

Sec 4N(A) students who are interested in

applying for both the PFP and DPP (sure not

coming back for Sec 5) can …

or progress to Sec 5N(A) first. Upon release of

the GCE O-Level results in Jan 2019, eligible

students may then apply for PFP and DPP

concurrently. If your application to either the

PFP or DPP is successful, you will withdraw

from Sec 5N(A) by the end of Jan 2019.

To note:

Students who accepted ITE EAE offers and met

the Minimum Entry Requirements (MERs) when

the GCE N-Level examination results are

released, your offer will be automatically

confirmed.

Students will not be able to participate in other

admissions exercises except Sec 4N(A)

students who are eligible for DPP (may

participate in JIE ‘H’) or eligible for PFP (may

apply online in Jan 2019).

Students who did not meet the MERs will take

part in JIE.

In support of your JIE journey:

• EBS Lab (level 4) will be available.

18 – 20 December 2018 (Tue – Thu)

9 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 4 pm

• FTs and ECG Teachers will be in school.

18 – 20 December 2018 (Tue – Thu)

9 am to 12 pm

• ECG Counsellor will be in EBS Lab.

18 December 2018 (Tue)

9 am – 12 pm and 1 pm – 4 pm

You need to be in school uniform.

To note:

Check that your personal particulars (such as

Statutory names, Hanyu Pinyin names, NRIC

no.) are printed correctly on your result slips as

well as the certificates.

Inform the office staff if there are any

amendments by today, 17 Dec 2018, 4 pm.
