Osceola Decorative Artists General Meeting Information
ODA meetings are the third (3rd) Saturday of each month at Osceola Arts Center, 2411 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial
Highway (St. Rd. 192), Kissimmee, FL 34744.
The business meeting starts at 10:00 am and is followed by a painting workshop/seminar. Guests are
welcome to attend a meeting to see what we are all about before deciding on membership. Chapter
membership is open to all members of Society of Decorative Painters. You can find more information on SDP at
decorativepainters.org. ODA chapter dues for 2019 are $25/year.
ODA Board meetings for 2019 will be held immediately before the general meetings, beginning at 9:00am.
All Board members are asked to make every effort to attend these meetings. Committee Chairpersons and any
other chapter members interested in attending the board meetings are welcome to sit in.
All articles, reports, and announcements for your ODA Newsletter must be to the Editor
before the last day of the month. Thank you.

Payne’s Grey Burnt Umber Cadmium Yellow Medium
Alizarin Crimson Permanent Gel Transparentizer
Surface: 11” x 14” MDF Plaque or wood panel of equivalent size.
You are also welcome to use a canvas of similar size, but please
note that due to the canvas texture, you may not achieve the
same level of detail on the design.
Supplies:
• JW Undercover or Ceramcoat White acrylic paint
• Faber Castell PITT artist pen: size S, but you can use most any
size just be aware that the ink lines will be heavier or finer
depending on the tip size.
• Optional: Rapidograph technical pen
• Liberty Matte Spray (Krylon 1311), Black Graphite Paper,
stylus, clicker retractable eraser, masking tape, Windex with
Ammonia (to correct small inking errors), Q-tips, paper palette or Styrofoam plate, palette knife, high
density foam roller
Note: brushes & scumblers can be available (for a nominal fee) on loaner basis
Princeton Select: #0 liner, #2, #4 & #6 Round blenders; small scumbler
OR
Scharff: #1 liner; Scharff Series 100 Classic Brights #6, #14, #20, and #32; Large & small scumblers.

“Sea Turtles”
Design by Bev Davis, taught by Mary Francis
The students will be supplied with a complete
pattern packet, three (3) photos, and an 11” x
17” background map printed on card stock.
(NOTE: This map may not be the exact
duplicate as in the photo.)
After completion, trim to 11” x 14” as desired.
The student may wish to adhere it to an 11” x
14” canvas board or other hard surface
suitable for framing.

BRUSHES:
1/8”, 3/8” angles, OR Sizes 2-8 Flats
#6 Round with a good point, small to medium rounds with good points
NORMAL PAINTING SUPPLIES: Palette paper, Tracing paper, Dark transfer paper, stylus, (scissors to trim finished
piece), Eraser, Paper towels, Water basin, Blue painters' tape - to tape the card stock to the board while
painting. Nice to have: A wet palette and a clipboard or easel to hold photos and instructions. A hard
surface, i.e. Masonite, foam core board, or similar, approximately 11 x 14" or larger, to keep your piece steady
(not cardboard as it has ridges that may show in your painting.)
