Periodic classification of elements : Need for classification, Early attempts at classification

of elements (Dobereiner’s Triads, Newland’s Law of Octaves, Mendeleev’s Periodic

Table), Modern periodic table, gradation in properties, valency, atomic number, metallic

and non-metallic properties.

protocols.

Services available on the internet, information retrieval, locating sites using search

engines and finding people on the net.

Web services: chat, e-mail, video conferencing, e-learning, e-banking, e-shopping,

e-reservation, e-Governance, e-Groups, social networking.

Unit 2 : HTML

Introduction to webpage designing using HTML Create and Save an HTML document,

access a webpage using a web browser.

HTML Tags- html, head, title, body (attributes text, background, bgcolor, link, vlink,

alink, br(break), hr(horizontal rular), inserting comments, h1- h6, P(paragraph),

B(Bold),

I(Italics), U(Underline), UL (Unordered Lists), OL(Ordered lists) Description lists dl, dt

and dd.

Attributes of OL ( Start / Type)

UL (Type)

Font tags (attributes : face, size, color)

Insert image : img (attributes : Src, width, height, alt), Sup(Superscript) sub(subscript)

Create a table using the tags table, tr, th, row span, colspan.

Links significance of linking another element (attributes: href, mailto), targets.

HTML Forms : Textbox, radiobuttons, checkbox, password, list, combo box.

Embed audio and video in a HTML page

Cascading style sheets: color, background - color, border-style, margin, height, width,

outline font (family, style, size), align, float.
