President’s Message Thank you for the privilege to serve as your President for the next year. It will be an honor and good opportunity for me to develop personally and professionally. I look forward to working with the Board of Directors and members to promote CFDD and help our chapter continue to thrive during these unprecedented times.
My theme this year is, “Knowledge is Power”. CFDD is a great organization, it has made a huge difference in my professional growth. Every educational meeting, I get at least one nugget of information I can use or helps solidify why and what to do in certain situations. Education is power, the power to make good, solid decisions that you are confident in presenting to your customers or management. Every credit decision has a different set of circumstances and reaching out and learning from other members in CFDD has made my job easier and made me more confident.
Coming together every month with like-minded individuals is fun, educational and inspiring. It is a driving force to attain my certifications as well! Last month was our first “virtual” get together, I think it went well and we discussed how to move forward. It was my first time hosting a Zoom Meeting as well! So good to see everyone’s faces and I felt as if it was a more relaxed environment! Everyone spoke up and had fun giving input. We didn’t have an educational piece to it as this is unprecedented, we wanted to see how it would go and we had about 20 on the call for most of the meeting; there was no charge for attending.
Please join us on the next educational meeting by ZOOM on July 9th at 4:30 p.m. An invitation will be forthcoming, and you will earn CEU’s for attendance, cost is $20. We are going to get some helpful information on the current economic situation and the coming impact we are all about to face in these unprecedented times by Mike Paruszkiewicz, Senior Economist at NW Natural, Northwest Economic Research Center, Adjunct Faculty, PSU Department of Economics. It should be enlightening, and your management will be impressed with the knowledge that you are keeping up on the situation at hand. Knowledge is power. Hope to see you all soon!
Don’t forget, CFDD National is still planned for September 10-11, 2020 in Oklahoma City, OK! Early Bird registration is $495 by 7/10.
Have a fun, relaxing and safe 4th of July!
Julie Gieber, CBF CFDD Portland Chapter President
