WELCOME LETTER
Dear Colleagues:
On behalf of the Scientific Program Committee, we are pleased to bring you the 2020 IGCS Annual Global Meeting utilizing the most innovative interactive “xDigital” technology platform designed to truly immerse you into the meeting experience from the comfort of your home or office.
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, IGCS is committed to virtually provide our members and delegates around the world with targeted educational programming, the latest scientific research in gynecologic cancers, and interactive networking opportunities. The IGCS leadership, dedicated staff and our new digital technology partner, iCrossing has risen to the occasion, making every effort to transition the IGCS Meeting into an online environment to fulfil the mission of our society. We are overwhelmed and grateful for the support of our course directors, expert faculty, abstract presenters, and industry partners who have worked tirelessly to contribute to our program in an accelerated timeline.
Following the tradition of previous meetings, IGCS 2020 will provide you with the opportunity to learn about the latest clinical advances as well as international developments in research, practice, and treatment for the care of women affected by gynecological cancer. Concurrent educational programming will run on four channels at different times each day to ensure that our delegates in all parts of the world are able to participate in parts of the program. Many of the live sessions with have opportunities for audience participation through Q&A segments and polling.
In addition to the scheduled programming, we are thrilled to offer 24-hour access to the Meeting Portal where delegates can access the Digital Exhibition Hall for the latest updates and technology from our industry partners, the Surgical Film Cinema which contains 21 films, the Abstract Poster Hall with over 300 posters and nearly 50 audio files where the poster authors further explain their research and the IGCS Link which allows delegates to send personal messages to each other.
The Meeting Portal will remain open 10 days after the meeting until September 24th, giving delegates the opportunity to watch recordings of the educational sessions and to access all the other features mentioned above.
Perhaps now more than ever, it is important for the gynecologic oncology community to utilize novel virtual solutions to share research for the sake of caring for patients with gynecologic malignancies. IGCS has always served to unite the globe in the fight against gynecologic cancers.
Sincerely,
Roberto Angioli, MD 2018-2020 IGCS President
Thomas Herzog, MD 2020 IGCS Scientific Committee Co-Chair
Rainer Kimmig, MD 2020 IGCS Scientific Committee Co-Chair
