A little about the 2020 Canadian Masters Badminton Championship
Competition runs Monday through to Saturday, arrivals are 1-2 days in advance and depart on the Sunday
Competitors and guests will be in Prince George, at a minimum, 8 days and 7 nights

Participants will be competing in up to thirteen age categories
Each age category features individual events in Men’s and Women’s Singles, Men’s and Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

Participants come from not only every province and territory but multiple countries Mexico, South America, Europe, Asia & Australia

Who is Coming and How Long?

Our goal is 250 participants which is a bit higher than the average number of participants hosted in the last 5 years
Average stay in Prince George for over 300 people would be 7 nights utilizing local hotels, restaurants, campsites and all the amenities

QUALITY EVENT DELIVERY
Goal #1 & #2 Exceptional Participant Experience & Quality Event Delivery
Our objective here includes providing all participants (players, officials, volunteers, spectators and visitors) a memorable experience both on and off the courts, that sets new hosting standards for events to come.

There is a requirement to host three social events giving Prince George again an opportunity to showcase some local facilities.

COMMUNITY & REGIONAL ENGAGEMENT
Goal#3 Excellent Community and Regional Engagement
The objective here is to introduce school age students and seniors to badminton and encourage their participation and activity, leading up to and during the event.

Goal #4 Regional Sport Participation objective is to provide incentives to draw talent from surrounding regions to participate in the event and provide a healthy competitive environment.

Objective here is to:
1. inspire players of all ages to play Badminton2. increase membership to local badminton clubs3. develop a network of specialized sport hosting volunteers readily available for other sporting events and 4. share this information with Tourism PG.

2. create specific marketing campaigns
3. have a flexible sponsorship and donation package which would include Income Tax receipts
4. and designate Kidsport Prince George as the recipient of a portion of any proceeds

In 2015 over a 2 week period athletes, officials, and spectators reveled in the experience that was The Canada Winter Games. Our city showcased the many world class venues needed to facilitate this event.

Over the course of our event as part of our marketing plan we will actively engage many aspects of our city outside of the field of play.

The Total Economic Impact in Prince George is over $765,000
And within BC over $886,000
To implement our event it will cost over $297,000 which includes five dedicated and secured volunteers to execute 7500 hours of their time
Participant revenue and presenting sponsor covers 25% of the required costs
