2020 WKU PANAMERICAN GAMES
Welcome to the 4th PanAmerican Games!
The World Kickboxing & Karate Union welcomes you to Houston, Texas.
We are very excited to host the Panam Games in the USA again. Houston is a beautiful city with hundreds
of things to do, home of some of the best teams in the world in different sports. Our hosting venue and
partner, the Marriott Westchase Hotel, is located in a great area. Surrounded by great restaurants and
only minutes away from The Galleria, the biggest mall in Houston. The Westchase Marriott is minutes
from both airports, Hobby (HOU) and Intercontinental (IAH).
Every year, more countries and athletes keep joining WKU. To the present day, we have more than 70
countries and over 17,000 athletes affiliated with WKU. The Panamerican Games are the result of WKU’s
steady growth in the continent. To make it fair and super fun, the Games take place in a different country
every year. This year the USA is the hosting country while Mexico will be the destination in 2021.
The Panam Games have all the WKU tatami official divisions that run at the World Championships. As an
incentive to attend and grow the Games, WKU has granted that every single winner of the WKU official
divisions will earn their spot for the World Championships in Canada!
The Panam Games will also have divisions for color belts; however the WKU official divisions are open to
all ranks. Competitors must fit in the proper division by age, gender and weight where weight is required.
This is an event open to all styles, schools and competitors. Color belts can compete in their regular
divisions and in the black belt division they can qualify for.
The Panams are part of the NBL Cowboy conference and the Sport Karate International League. All
competitors finishing in the top 8 spots in their divisions will earn points and seeding to attend the Super
Grands World Games in 2020!
Athletes from Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, England, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras,
Mexico, United States of America, & Venezuela have confirmed attendance to the games; make sure you
attend the PANAM Games on February 21-22, 2020… We want you to be Part of History!
We want to personally thank all the loyal volunteers and industry professionals who put so much effort
into the Panam Games Weekend. They are dedicated to making your experience in Houston a positive
and unforgettable one! Thank you all for your support!
Once again, welcome to Texas y’all!

seminar & certification
On Sunday February 23rd we will host an amazing Point Sparring seminar/certification! The Global Point Fighting Method (GPFM) experience will take over in Houston.
The main goal of this Training Method is to provide instructors, students and competitors with a Point Fighting functional and detailed curriculum to train and follow from beginner to black belt level. The system will help everybody involved in Point Fighting, from a person that has never trained Point Fighting before to the most experienced fighter/instructor. We will teach basic and winning technics, a solid foundation for sparring development, amazing combinations and fun but hard conditioning drills. We will teach you proper footwork, how to use the ring and learn to calculate distance and the correct use of space. We will boost your confidence and self-esteem with proper fighting and training psychology and mental frame for winning. Our system will enhance your performance and victories at tournaments. Global Point Fighting Method is created by Luis Jiménez, with 35+ year experience in Martial Arts, 30+ years competing at tournaments, currently holds 12 world champion point and continuous sparring titles and coach of more than 20 sparring world champions. The Global Point Fighting Method is a curriculum that you can easily implement in your school for your current students regarding their training level or for brand new members that just joined your school. The program is broken down in 5 levels, being level 5 the instructor level. The Program is also part of the WKU STAR system and has world recognition. Along the year we will host seminars, camps and certifications in different parts of the world exclusive for our members like this one after the Panam Games. Our mission is to create a community of well-trained Point Fighters that train together and that learn from each other regarding their country, league, rules or style, Come and join our Global Point Fighting Method community.
