BOARD AND DISTRICT STRATEGIC PLAN – VISION, MISSION, VALUES, AND GOALS
Strategic Plan Vision…Crook County School District is an organization with integrity, a model for educational success, and a recognized leader for excellence in helping students dream, learn and succeed.
Mission… The Board, administration, staff, students, parents, and the community work together to ensure high academic achievement, personal growth and exemplary citizenship for all students by establishing a learning system based on performance excellence, continuous improvement, and safe and effective operations.
Values… • We believe that honest and open communication is the foundation for our professional relationships. We
respect, support, and value each member of our school family.• We believe that Crook County School District must provide a quality education at the earliest grade level as
well as an exemplary education at all levels. We believe in high academic standards where students aresupported and engaged in both traditional and non-traditional environments.
• We believe that co-curricular opportunities support academic achievement, exemplary citizenship, andphysical and mental well-being of all students.
• We believe it is the shared responsibility of the entire community to educate, support, and nurture every childfor the accomplishment of his/her goals.
• We believe in diversity and ensuring equal treatment and access to resources for all that are connected withthe educational community. The district works to build a sustainable relationship with its diverse membership.
Goals… The Board of Directors is strongly committed to the District's mission. To that end, the Board has adopted five goals to guide our district's ongoing improvement efforts:
Goal 1: Student Achievement and Success at Grades Pre-Kindergarten - 12 and Beyond
Goal 2: High Standards of Performance
Goal 3: Fiscal Stability to Support Student Learning
Goal 4: Effective Communications and Community Involvement
Goal 5: Efficient and Effective Ancillary Services
Supporting each goal, the Board has identified specific performance measures to focus our efforts. These performance measures are not all-inclusive, but have been strategically chosen to target our limited time, energy, and resources on high-leverage outcomes aligned to our mission and goals. The Board believes in continuous, incremental improvement and understands that meaningful and measurable progress takes time. Maintaining a consistent and sustained focus on the goals and performance measures enables us to build capacity over time to achieve the outcomes we desire for our Crook County students, staff, and community.
It is the Board’s intent that progress towards achieving the goals and performance measures will be regularly monitored and reported to the Crook County community.
The Board also acknowledges that the world is continually changing and the goals and performance measures may need to adapt and evolve to meet new circumstances. The Board is committed to annually reviewing and updating, as necessary, the goals and performance measures.
