Depending on stream, graduate nurses
are allocated to PACU or scrub/scout role.

developed to provide the Graduate
Nurse an opportunity to recognize &

work as a Registered Nurse (in-charge) in
Residential Care.

Renal DialysisRenal Dialysis provides a
haemodialysis service to patients in
an ambulatory care setting.
The unit has a 12 chair capacity
which accommodates 48 patients
The Graduate Nurse is provided
with a 12 day training package to
learn the skills to function safely and independently in the renal
dialysis unit.

• 6 birth suites, 8 postnatal beds.
• Antenatal Assessment Unit- foetal
surveillance, iron transfusions.
• Our approach promotes pregnancy and
childbirth as a normal healthy life event.
• Supportive care for healthy women with
uncomplicated pregnancies from 1st
antenatal visit to first week at home visit.
• Accept low risk women from 37 + weeks.

Medical Oncology – Ballarat Health
Provides oncology and haematology services to
the patients of Ballarat and the Grampians region.
Includes managing solid tumours such as breast
cancer, bowel cancer, lung cancer and others,
leukaemias, lymphomas and myelomas.
The Graduate Nurse will be supported by the
Clinical Education Team at Ballarat Health Service.

Maternity Services – Western Health
20 maternity delivery rooms, 237 beds, 39
special care nursery cots, four theatres
and additional clinics.
The Graduate will undertake a 3 month
rotation as part of the Graduate
Midwifery Exchange Program enabling
the graduate midwife to experience
midwifery practice in both tertiary and
regional health services.
