For the 2021 crop year, USDA Farm Service Agency’s certified corn acres planted in Tennessee totaled 950,790 acres. Current reported acreage (acres will be added between now and the final report) is 32.8 percent more acres of corn in 2021 than 2020’s 715,736 acres. Final reported acreage for the 2021 crop year will be published in January/February of 2022. The top five counties for corn planted acres in Tennessee were Obion, Gibson, Weakley, Dyer and Henry Counties. The top five counties planted 35 percent of Tennessee’s total corn acres.

planted acres in Tennessee were Haywood, Crockett, Fayette, Lauderdale and Gibson Counties.
The top five counties planted 59 percent of Tennessee’s total cotton acres.

Tennessee totaled 10,665 acres. Current reported acreage (acres will be added between now and
the final report) is 138.2 percent more acres in 2021 than 2020’s 4,477 acres. Final reported acreage
for the 2021 crop year will be published in January/February of 2022. The top five counties for grain
sorghum planted acres in Tennessee were Fayette, Haywood, Hardin, Obion and Crockett Counties.
The top five counties planted 64 percent of Tennessee’s total grain sorghum acres.
