REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCEDuring your studies, you will have opportunities to

develop your networks, meet industry professionals and immediately apply your learnings to real-world environments. Complete fieldwork or a placement

in a domestic or international setting, or collaborate with industry on cutting-edge research activities.

Postgraduate students can also gain practical clinical experience in our on-campus Psychology Clinic, where

you will treat real patients under the supervision of fully qualified clinical psychologists and gain hands-on

experience across a range of therapeutic skills.

STUDY A UNIQUE DEGREE We offer South Australia’s only degree in cognitive

neuroscience, as well as unique degrees that specialise in ageing and disability, and counselling

and interpersonal skills. Working alongside experienced practitioners and academics, you will

develop the knowledge and skills to empower others, solve complex problems, and meet the

wellbeing needs of individuals, families and carers across a range of sectors.

DOUBLE YOUR KNOWLEDGE Enhance your career opportunities with a double degree. Combine your psychology qualification with a second discipline in law, human resource

management, exercise and sport science, human movement or human services. Examine human

behaviour and its application in different contexts and environments, and focus your studies on your

interests and career goals.

New window to the soul It’s often said that the eyes are the window to the soul, revealing our thoughts and feelings. Now, new research reveals that your eyes may also be an indicator of your personality type, simply by the way they move.

A study by UniSA researchers in collaboration with international partners is using state-of-the-art machine-learning algorithms to demonstrate a link between personality and eye movements, with findings showing that eye movement can tell whether people are sociable, conscientious, or curious.

The study delivers important insights for social robotics, and its findings could help to improve interaction between humans and machines, making robots and computers more natural and better at interpreting human social signals.

With automation in customer service industries on the rise, in the future these findings could lead to improved personalised services and more authentic interactions with machines.

Young People Achieve), to develop an employment pathway initiative for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander

students who are studying psychology, human services and social work. Students

will be engaged in paid work while they study, with the possibility of continuing

employment after graduation.

"My studies have been an enriching experience. We are all so diverse,

yet we share the same goal to help others and make the world a

better, fairer place. I really enjoyed the practical social work studio on campus and industry placements

gave me the opportunity to put my knowledge into practice. I was also

fortunate to receive two study grants to go on study tours to India and the

Philippines to explore social work practices in different cultures."
