Eucharistic Adoration - Enter into Silence
Our world is constantly filling us with noise: TV, radio, phones, etc; but we know that
only through silence can we reach down into our inner souls and listen to God. In this last week of Lent, we invite you to let silence work for you; do nothing and force noth-ing, just let God guide you. Eucharistic Adoration is open to all and is held every Tuesday from 8:00 am to 6:45 pm concluding with a 7:00 pm Mass. You may come at any time and stay for any length of time.
We are in need of Adorers for 8:00 am and 12:00 pm. We are looking at extending Adoration hours until 10:00 pm but are in need of at least 2 assigned Adorers for each hour. Please contact Joanne Di Liberto for more infor-mation or to sign up at 610-932-8962.

3 Ways to Have a Mass offered for our Loved Ones
The great prayer of the Church is the Mass in which we celebrate the Real Presence of Christ (Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity) offered to the Father and then Holy Communion with Christ in the Mystical Body of Christ – in Heaven and on Earth. Praying the Mass and offering Masses for our loved ones – living or deceased is a great gift especially for the souls of the faithful departed.
An Announced Mass. ($10 offering – 1 Mass). Who/what the Mass is being offered for is announced at Mass and printed in the bulletin. See 2018 Parish Mass Book in parish office.
An Un-Announced Mass. ($5 offering –1 Mass). This intention is offered by a priest and yet unannounced in a public setting. A priest would offer this Mass in his assignment where there may not be announced Masses. For example in hospital chapels, high schools, retirement villas.
The Purgatorial Society. ($25 offering –12 Masses). The Purgatorial Society offers Masses for one year for your loved one, on the first Saturday of the month, in the parish.
Call the parish secretary if you are interested in any of the above options for Masses.
Sacred Heart Youth Group will be conducting a non-perishable food drive for the Mother of Mercy House (MOMH) on Sunday, March 25th from 1:30 - 3:30 at the Oxford Walmart. MOMH is a Catholic organization located in the Kensington and Allegheny neighborhood of Philadelph-ia. Father Bill Murphy, one of the co-founders, will be visit-ing the Sacred Heart Youth Group’s meeting in April and we would like to present him with an offering in support of his organization. MOMH strives to bring compassion into the lives of the poor, addicted and outcast of our society. Please stop by Walmart between 1:30 and 3:30 pm March 25th or, leave any donations in the church hall and the Youth Group will pick them up. If you would like to make a financial donation, you can visit youcaring.com/motherofmercyhouse-1117853 to help sponsor parishioner (and Father Murphy’s brother) Dennis Murphy’s Broad Street Run which he is dedicating to MOMH.
Non-perishable food items most needed are: pasta & sauce, cold cereal, peanut butter & jelly, canned tuna, canned soups & pasta, crackers, goya beans, fruit cups, juice drinks, mac & cheese The Pontifical
Good Friday Collection
Pope Francis has asked our parish to support the Pontifical Good Friday Collection which helps Christians in the Holy Land. The Pontifical Good Friday Collection also helps to preserve the sacred shrines. The wars, unrest and instability have been especially hard on Christians. In these times of crisis, the Pontifi-cal Good Friday Collection provides humanitarian aid to refugees. When you contribute to the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, you become an instrument of peace and join with Catholics around the world in solidarity with the Church in the Holy Land. Please be generous.
Thank You! On behalf of the Knights of Columbus and Ladies’
Auxiliary of Sacred Heart, we would like to thank Fa-ther Mike, the staff of Sacred Heart Parish, and the
countless volunteers for their efforts leading up to the St. Patrick’s Day Social. Without the support of Father Mike, his staff and the parish, this event would not have
been possible. The tastes and sounds of Ireland were evident throughout the parish hall that night.

Are You Called to Be a Deacon?
Archdiocese of Philadelphia
Minister of the Word ∙ Minister at the Altar Minister of Charity
While all the baptized are called to share in the mission of Je-sus Christ according to the gifts of the Holy Spirit, those who are ordained also offer service in a way proper to the Sacrament of Holy Orders. A deacon’s ministry entails proclaiming, preaching and teaching God’s Word, assisting the bishop and priest at the Liturgy, assisting at funerals, ministering to the sick and dying, leading the community in prayer and in sacra-mental liturgies, baptizing, witnessing marriages, and exercis-ing administrative leadership in the Church. A permanent dea-con, who may be married, is a member of the clergy and shares in the hierarchy of the Sacrament of Holy Orders. Through the Sacrament of Holy Orders, the deacon is config-ured to Christ the Servant. It is Christ the Servant who acts through the ministry of the deacon.
Want to Learn More… We invite Catholic men (and their wives if married) with a deep spiritual life who are between the ages of 29 and 55, and would like to discern a call to serve Jesus Christ and His Church within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia as permanent deacons to take the next step and contact us for more infor-mation and to register for the upcoming Permanent Diaconate Information Night.
