The Geraldton & Districts Offshore Fishing Club invite you
to take part in the 20th annual Halco Abrolhos Island Game Fishing
Tournament at the magnificent Abrolhos Islands. This unique
location and fishing opportunity requires logistic planning by all
competing skippers & crew but the effort involved in executing
the necessary preparation will see all participants well rewarded
with a great week in a world class fishing location. Tournament

will be holding a pre-tournament 20th anniversary celebration on
Friday, 17 March 2017 in Geraldton at the Geraldton & Districts
Offshore Fishing Club located within the Geraldton Multipurpose
Centre on the Geraldton Foreshore. As a participant in the 2017
tournament we invite you to join us for the evening. Please see our
website for full details.Competitors are required to make their way
independently to Pigeon Island Community Club for the Briefing
Night at 5pm on Saturday, 18 March 2017. Attendance at the Briefing
is compulsory for all skippers and is encouraged for all anglers.
Please be advised that you must secure your mooring or jetty berth
ahead of your arrival. Carrier boats will be operating to Easter
and Wallaby groups for refuelling. Teams MUST contact the carrier
boat captains prior to tournament to arrange any fuel you may
require during your stay at the Islands.The tournament commences
with lines in at 7am Sunday, 19 March 2017. As with previous years,
there are no compulsory lay days. The winners will be calculated on
their best three (3) days scores counting towards any one (1)
category. Bonus points are awarded for any pending record catch.
The tournament concludes at 3pm on Friday, 24 March 2017. Crews
will meet again at the Pigeon Island Community Club at 5pm that
afternoon for the Presentation Evening.Please note that this is a
WAGFA sanctioned event and therefore ALL competitors MUST belong to
a WAGFA affiliated club and have current WAGFA membership. Crews
must contain two (2) or more people. All tags must be completed in
full to be eligible for inclusion towards champion points.GFAA
& additional GDOFC tournament specific rules apply to this
tournament. The GDOFC rules are located on our website if you wish
to view them and they will be included in the competitor’s folder
provided to your boat at the Briefing Night.The prize categories

Presentation Evening to be eligible for some great
prizes.Participants are encouraged to post photos to our Facebook
page throughout and following the tournament.Local fishing reports
are regularly posted on our Facebook page so you can see what’s
biting leading up to the tournament. All you have to do is select
your crew and forward your completed registration form to us by
Wednesday, 1 March 2017. (Early entry assists us with catering and
securing correct shirt sizes etc and is greatly appreciated.) Then
take care of your preparations ready for an awesome week of
