21AUGUST2021 THOUGHTFORTHEWEEK NOTICES NEWS FROM THE HEADMASTER I am always enthused by the energy and joy that our boys show each day at school. While I encourage and remind the boys that they need to be well prepared for each school day, they also need to bring their skills, a will to learn, explore and be excited about what they learn. As adults, we often become a bit jaded over time and, given the circumstances we have lived under in the past 18 months, it is not surprising. The emotional well- being of your families should be a focus when you spend time together. Use the abundant energy that your boys have to fuel your days! Women’s Day Breakfast We hosted a Ladies Breakfast on the 14 August in celebration of King Edward women. While the restrictions limited the num- ber of guests, the tables were beautifully decorated, the speak- ers inspirational and the event appreciated by the ladies. We salute the important women in our lives and we think our wom- en are SUPERHEROES. Thank you to Mrs Burger and the hosts for making this event successful. We will add this event to the annual calendar. NOTICES 1. Please note that the Term II reports were published last Fri- day. If you have not seen them due to access issues, please inform the class teacher. 2. The Karri App has been launched- this will allow for cashless payments for civvies days, school events and PA “fun-raising activities. 3. Please ensure that your boy’s clothing is clearly marked with a full name, not initials, to assist us in returning lost property. 4. The Sports and Cultural sessions gain traction in our return to activities- please encourage your boy to get involved, partici- pate and grow. 5. The first inter-school fixtures begin this week and the remain- ing fixtures will be published as soon as we confirm participating schools. 6. The news in the media of a change to the term calendar (the holiday) is not confirmed- we will let you know when we know! DATESTOREMEMBER Friday, 10 September Literacy Day Friday, 17 September Grade 7 Market Day COVID CATCH UP The infection rates in our community have vastly improved yet the national rates are still a concern. We must remain cautious and careful in our activities at school. I would remind parents and guardians to please report any positive cases in our families in order to effectively track and trace cases. Have you had your vaccination yet? I am always enthused by the energy and joy that our boys show each day at school. While I encourage and remind the boys that they need to be well prepared for each school day, they also need to bring their skills, a will to learn, explore and be excited about what they learn. The emotional well-being of your families should be a focus when you spend time together. Use the abundant energy that your boys have to fuel your days!

hosts for making this event successful. We will add this event to
