As I look back over my first year as President/CEO, I am pleased to see how we have continued to strengthen our commitment to the mission of providing a positive impact in the community. I would like to personally thank our members and staff who have shown their generosity throughout the year. Since January of this year, CCU employees have logged just under 2,000 hours of community service. Most recently, we had a tremendous response to our holiday gift drive which benefited both Aging Matters in Brevard and Neighbor Up’s Gifts From The Heart Christmas Shop. The other aspect of our mission is to always improve the financial well-being of our members. The number one concern we hear from members and the community at large is how difficult it is to build savings. So, if one of your New Year’s resolutions is to build your savings for a rainy day, we can help! Two quick, easy ways to get started include enrolling in the CCU Debit Card RoundUp Savings Program and taking advantage of our new Free Checking Plus account, if you haven’t already. With Debit Card RoundUp, your debit card purchases are rounded up to the next dollar and the difference is automatically deposited in your savings account. As I write this, over 4,600 members take advantage of this program and have accrued total savings of over $850,000. Free Checking Plus, which we introduced in October, allows you to earn an extraordinary dividend on your average daily balance every month while still having a truly FREE checking account. There are no minimum balance or deposit requirements and no monthly fees. Nearly 3,000 members now use this account, and the feedback is that they love it! You can learn more at ccuFlorida.org/plus, or just give us a call. Another key to being able to build savings is to reduce the amount of interest you pay on loans. This can be a challenge for those who have not built a strong credit history. It’s been about a year since we introduced QuickCASH Personal Loans, which provide our members an alternative to high-interest payday lenders. We are currently funding over $100,000 per month in these loans. In addition to being far less costly than a payday loan, timely payments of these loans can help these members build or rebuild a good credit history. Our newest service designed exclusively for members is the CCU Auto Buying Center. Conveniently available on the CCU website and mobile app, these resources will eliminate stress and help you get the best deal when you are ready to shop for a new or used vehicle. Included are AutoSMART which is an online vehicle marketplace, loan preapproval, and the CCU Auto Pro who will help you shop and negotiate with the dealer. This is a free member service that can help you be confident and comfortable when you’re at the dealership. Please check it out before you buy your next vehicle. Best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2019. Dot was integral to many of the important initiatives which advanced CCU and helped us carry out our mission to serve our members and the community. Ms. Everhart began her teaching career in North Carolina in 1946, and moved to Florida in 1956. She spent 16 years in the classroom teaching English and Social Studies, and an additional 27 years in the library. She has served as President of the Brevard County Association of School Librarians and as Secretary of the Brevard County Education Association. Ms. Everhart joined the Board of Directors of CCU in 1965 and served 23 years as Secretary before being elected Vice-Chair. Dot, thank you for sharing your heart with us. Laurie Cappelli, President/CEO The 2019 Annual Meeting of the Members will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 7 p.m. at the Space Coast Health Foundation Center. One of the items of business is the election to fill open positions on the Board of Directors. We have two seats expiring (seat #1, seat #2). The Nominating Committee, made up of three members (one Board Director and two non-Board members), has nominated Moses Harvin and Jim Platman to continue serving in their current seats. These nominees have been serving on the Community Credit Union Board of Directors and several Committees and have many years of experience. Additional nominations for these open positions can be made by petition signed by at least one percent (1%) of the current credit union membership and a completed volunteer application must be filed. Service on the Board or Committee requires you to be a primary member. In order to be validated, the petitions and volunteer application must be submitted to Tina Webster, Executive Secretary, by close of business February 5, 2019. Petitions submitted after this date will not be accepted. Elections will not be conducted by ballot, and nominations from the floor will not be taken when there is only one nominee for each open position. Mark your calendars to attend the 2019 Annual Meeting of the Members and help us celebrate 66 years of service to the community! There will be refreshments and prize giveaways. All Community Credit Union members are welcome to attend! **Please note the location change of the meeting. The meeting will be held next door at the Space Coast Health Foundation Collaboration Center, 1100 Rockledge Blvd, Rockledge 32955.

Have you heard? Our popular Port St. John and Titusville branches are moving to new, larger buildings! The Port St. John branch will move to a stand-alone building just a half-mile north, which will not only increase space but will also add drive-through service for that branch. The Titusville branch is scheduled to move to a stand-alone building on South Washington Avenue early in 2020.

We appreciate your patience as the CCU Rockledge branch remodel continues and look forward to unveiling our new lobby and updated drive-through which will both allow us to better serve your needs.
