Do You Suffer From Vertigo?
Do you experience a spinning sensation that lasts for a number of seconds when you roll over in bed, get out of bed, when you bend down to put on your shoes, or when you tip your head back to look upward?
If so, then you may have benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), also known as positional vertigo.
Patients who have positional vertigo may benefit by treatment known as the canalith reposition-ing procedure (CRP). The procedure takes only a few minutes, and studies have shown that it is effective about 80% of the time in completely resolving positional vertigo.
The cost of CRP is only $20If you would like to schedule a CRP diagnostic/treatment session, call our office at
627-7759For more information about positional vertigo or other services we offer,
please visit our website. All fees are posted on our website.

In MemoriamTo our dearest Father,
Joseph S. Cervola Jr.
I think of you in Heaven, when I see a bright shining star.Your spirit lies within us all; so close, yet so far.
You would always prepare your bullets and polish your gun.You are sadly missed by your grandchildren, daughters, and son.
No matter what you did, the ending was still the same. You closed your eyes and rested your head as the precious angel came.
No longer would you be able to witness nature from your tree.I will never forget all of the love and support that you blessed upon me.
We all love you now as we did back then.We pray and hope that we will see you again.
You were so skilled in your craft, you would create your own luck. It’s been four years since you departed, but you are still our “Joe Buck”.

The various trees and the specific use for the species will be explained. Ms. Anderson also mentioned many of our native trees no longer exist due to disease and other environmental conditions.
The program is open to the public and will be held at the Evans Historical Museum on Route 5 in Evans Center.
Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Boys & Girls Club Teen Night A Huge Success
The Boys & Girls Club of Lake Shore recently hosted their first Teen Night for club members and non-club mem-bers on Friday, January 30. Approximately 55 kids in grade six or higher attended the event, which ran from 6:30 to 9:00 PM. The $7 admission cost included two slices of pizza and pop. Teen Night activities at the club included video games, music, hang out time (just socializing), and open gym. The snack shack was open to allow hungry teens to purchase additional food items. Overwhelmingly, the most popular activity was open gym time, which allowed for activities such as shooting hoops with friends, or participating in an organized dodgeball game. “Overall I think it was a huge success, and the staff and I were blown away by the turn-out and the amount of fun the kids had,” said Lake Shore Unit Director Justin Simet. “Parents were also very pleased with the event and asked that the Club consider hosting a teen night more often - it's something we're seriously considering,” he said. Known as “The Positive Place for Kids,” Boys and Girls Clubs provide guidance oriented programs on a daily basis for children 7-18 years old, conducted by a full-time profes-sional staff. The Boys and Girls Club is a positive place that offers a varied and diversified youth development program. Based on physical, emotional, cultural and social needs and interests of boys and girls, trained staff members offer programs in five core program areas: Character and Lead-ership Development; The Arts; Education and Career De-velopment; Health and Life Skills; and, Sports, Fitness and Recreation. For additional information about the program please contact Justin Simet at 926-2119.

Boys & Girls Club of Lake Shore Receives Grant
The Boys & Girls Club of Lake Shore is proud to an-nounce the awarding of the “Raising Dough For Kids” Pizza Hut grant which was received on Tuesday, January 27th in the amount of $6,821.00. The grant check was presented at the new Sheridan Drive (Amherst) Pizza Hut location. This grant is being used toward implementing a new LEGO robotics program that will be run right here at the Club for members aged 9 to 13. This education-based program will enable our youth to follow instructions on as-sembling complex motorized units, learn to trouble-shoot and problem-solve, work together in teams, explore key STEM concepts (science, technology, math and engineer-ing), and above all, enjoy themselves in building and play-ing with their creations! If you are interested in this excit-ing opportunity, please contact the Club for more details at (716) 926-2119 or [email protected]. On Thursday, January 22nd, local Pizza Hut Restaurants throughout WNY kicked off their 6 week “Raising Dough For Kids” campaign. The program asks for patrons of Pizza Hut to donate their change (or $1.00) to the locally owned and operated non-profit (501-C3) organization in order to raise monies for Western New York Children's Charities. The Boys & Girls Club of Lake Shore has received a very substantial amount of funding from this program for three years straight now, and has tremendously benefited from it. Some of our past unique programs, including “Little Dancers, Big Dreams,” have been made possible by this organization’s grant donations. If you visit an area Pizza Hut location in the near future, please consider donating to this very worthy cause and spreading the word to family, friends, and community members. Pictured receiving this year’s grant are Justin Simet , Unit Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Shore (back row, far right), along with the other deserving orga-nizations around WNY that were also recipients of “Rais-ing Dough For Kids” grant funding.

Wall of Fame Nominations Sought In 1992 the Lake Shore Central School District developed the Wall of Fame program for recognizing the outstanding achievements of alumni of the district. These indi-viduals are people who, after graduation, greatly contributed to the well being of our society through their hard work, talents and leadership. Nominees must be a graduate of at least 15 years and may not currently be an employee of the Lake Shore Central School District. Every other year the district holds an induction ceremony in May honoring new inductees. Once again, we have begun the process of selecting a new class for induction. If you know of any alumni who should be considered for this honor, we ask that you provide us with a completed application by Wednesday, March 11, 2015. The Wall of Fame Nomination Form can be downloaded from our website: www.lakeshorecsd.org
Each nominee will be reviewed by the district committee for possible induction into the “Wall of Fame”. Individuals who are selected will be afforded a place on the “wall” with a picture and biographical information. In addition, it will be expected that the honoree address our high school students, with a reception being held in their honor.
This year’s Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Reception is scheduled for June 4, 2015.
More information will follow at a later date. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact
James Przepasniak, Superintendent of Schools, at (716) 926-2201.

1986 US Congress passed the NATIONAL CHILDHOOD VACCINE INJURY ACT. This act granted blanket legal immunity to pharmaceutical companies for any harm caused by their vaccines. You the TAXPAYER via these (non-publicized) federal courts have thus far awarded OVER $2.8 BILLION IN DAMAGES* for injuries and DEATHS sustained from compulsory and recommended vaccinations.
DEMAND TO SEE AND READ THE MANUFACTURER’S PRODUCT INSERT for any vaccine, especially the flu shot. Did you know that all vaccines are not created equal, and may contain multifarious elements such as: Aluminum, cells from ABORTED FETUSES (as in the RA 27/3 Rubella vaccine), Formaldehyde (known human carcinogen), Thimerosal (a mercury-containing preservative), etc. 2014 CDC whistleblower, senior research scientist at the Centers for Disease Control, Dr. William Thompson goes public thru law firm Morgan Verkamp LLC and admits fraud in a 2004 study conducted with his co-workers. The study was published in the journal Pediatrics and deliberately omitted test re-sults linking the MMR vaccination to an increased risk of Autism.
2014 Italian Judge Nicola Di Leo in Milan awards compensation to a boy for vaccine-induced Autism from GlaxoSmithKline’s Infanrix Hexa. In a 2012 landmark ruling, Italian Judge Lucio Ardio in Rimini found the Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR) vaccine administered to Valentino Bocca at nine months old had caused the child’s Autism.
Are you willing to sacrifice your child to the state? Think before you vaccinate. Don’t be ‘grubered’ by mainstream propaganda. The greatest threat of mandated (forced) inoculation is not the vaccine, it is the violation of our Constitutional freedoms and an accelerated descent into absolute tyranny.
Yours in Liberty,Ronald Paul Wiskup II

• On March 5, 1839, Charlotte Bronte writes to the Rev. Henry Nussey, declining marriage. The 23-year-old Bronte told him that he would fi nd her “romantic and eccentric,” and not practical enough to be a clergyman’s wife. Her novel “Jane Eyre” was pub-lished eight years later.

TO YOUR GOOD HEALTH
By Keith Roach, M.D.
Sleep Medications Linked to FallsDEAR DR. ROACH: You’ve discussed sleep aids and your belief that it is best to get off all of this type of medication. I am healthy, 75 (take no meds), exercise with weights, do swimming and running regularly, and since 2007 have been taking an over-the-count-er sleep aid called dox-ylamine nightly with no apparent side effects. Do you see a problem with continuing? -- A.B.
ANSWER: Unfortunately, I do see a problem. Odds are that you won’t have a problem taking this med-ication; it’s cheap and is effective for you. Howev-er, there is unequivocal, abundant, incontrovertible evidence that antihista-mines like doxylamine or diphenhydramine increase fall risk. If you drive, they increase accident risk. They also can cause con-fusion. Although the benefi t to you from quitting is small, if I can get enough people to minimize their sleep medications, I know I will prevent some falls. Falls are so often the fi rst step in a progression from health to disability that I want to do all I can to prevent them.Adequate lighting in the house at nighttime, es-pecially between the bedroom and bathroom, avoiding obstructions like area rugs and the addi-tion of stairway railings and tub grab bars all help reduce fall risk. Exercise programs -- like the kind
you are doing, but also tai chi -- are great at pre-venting falls. So is getting your eyes checked. No single one of these in-terventions can prevent all falls. All of them together will prevent many. Your medication list, even a simple over-the-counter sleeping aid, is the best place to start looking to reduce risk of falls.***DEAR DR. ROACH: My dad has an extreme case of COPD and is on oxy-gen. He gets winded just walking across the house. Dad lives in Montana; I live in Florida and would like him to come visit me during the cold Montana winters. I have heard that it would be easier for him to breathe at a lower altitude. But people have told him that if he comes to Flori-da, he would never be able to go back to Montana be-cause he wouldn’t be used to the altitude any longer. Is this true? -- D.W.ANSWER: The lower oxygen levels at high al-titude, like some cities in
Montana, can be a realproblem for people withany kind of chronic lungdisease. In those cases, supplemental oxygen or alower altitude can makepeople feel better andeven live longer. Giventhat your dad is already onoxygen, a lower altitude would be similar to dial-ing up the oxygen a bit. Hemay certainly prefer Flori-da’s winters to Montana’s.We begin to be accus-tomed to high altitude in afew days, but full acclima-tization takes weeks. Your dad will be able to returnhome after his visit. The booklet on COPD explains both emphysemaand chronic bronchitis, thetwo elements of COPD, in detail. Readers can ob-tain a copy by writing: Dr. Roach -- No. 601W,Box 536475, Orlando, FL 32853-6475. Enclose acheck or money order (nocash) for $4.75 U.S./$6 Canada. with the recip-ient’s printed name and address. Please allow 4-6weeks for delivery.

COUCH THEATERDVD PREVIEWS
By Sam Struckhoff
PICKS OF THE WEEK“The Hunger Games: Mock-ingjay -- Part One” (PG-13) -- After wrecking the Hun-ger Games and igniting a revolution, Katniss (Jenni-fer Lawrence) -- the fran-chise’s arrow-slinging teen heroine -- is determined to rescue Peeta (Josh Hutch-erson) from the clutches of the evil President Snow (Donald Sutherland). Kat-niss gains new allies from District 13 led by Alma Coin (Julianne Moore), who means business, and from the Capitol when Cressida (Natalie Dormer) and her camera crew fl ee. However, it seems like Katniss and the 13ers have different priori-ties.Those two words at the end of the title tell you every-thing else you need to know about the movie. “Part One” is now the universal code for “we stretched out a sin-gle book of material into two bloated movies, be-cause you’ll see both any-way, and we’ll get twice as much money.” It’s a shame. While the looks and perfor-mances are all there, this movie -- or more accurate-ly the fi rst part of a movie -- has a lot of set up and no climax.
“Foxcatcher” (R) -- Based on real events, this fi lm looks at the toxic relation-ship between two wrestling brothers and the rich man who sees them as his way to greatness. Channing Tatum plays Mark Schulz, a once-revered Olympic wrestler who is invited to train for the 1988 Seoul Olympics at the estate of John du Pont (Steve Carrell) -- the not-so-athletic heir
to a fortune. David Schulz (Mark Ruffalo) is Mark’s older brother, coach and a hitch in John’s control over Mark. This is a movie of steady building suspense, mean-ingful small moments and an undeniable sense of ag-gression and violence just under the surface. Tatum plays a seemingly simple, icy character, but you can tell there’s a lot of energy and confusion swirling be-hind that heavy brow. Car-rell’s role is often described as a “transformation,” and it fi ts -- he is unsettling and almost unrecognizable.
“The Captive” (R) -- A young girl goes missing in an instant, leaving no trace and little to clear the guilt from her father (Ryan Reynolds). Almost a de-cade later, the parents are divorced, damaged and still searching for the people
who kidnapped their daugh-ter -- somebody who appar-ently kidnaps and abuses children, and spies on theparents while their lives fallapart. You’ll endure plottwists and TV crime-showcliches, and all you’ll be leftwith an icky feeling.
“The Better Angels” (PG) -- This ponderous black-and-white fi lm takes us into the childhood of AbrahamLincoln, but it’s not a bi-ography, and it’s certainlyno history lesson. Much ofthe story comes from theenvironment -- little sounds of nature, a timely breeze swaying the old oak branch-es. But it’s easy to miss the story. It’s a more moody, artsy look at growing up andthe role of virtues. It’s plain to see that fi lmmaker A.J. Edwards has drawn on his work with Terrence Malik; he just hasn’t reached thatlevel with this offering.
