Al comenzar un nuevo año escolar y la formación en la fe, el cuidado de nuestros jóvenes al enseñar y vivir la fe en Jesucristo es cada vez más importante. Las terribles y trágicas noticias e informes del abuso de con-fianza dado a la Iglesia Católica contra los más vulnerables de nuestras familias está más allá de toda des-cripción. La semana pasada, nuestro Obispo Patrick nos recordó sobre la necesidad de la vigilancia en el amor y cómo nuestra fe en Dios debe continuar apuntándonos al cuidado de todos y como necesitamos estar a la altura de nuestro llamado, especialmente el clero ordenado como "padres" y ministros de Jesucristo.
Puedo asegurarles nuestra diligencia en el cuidado y protección de nuestros jóvenes feligreses. Y aunque seguir los tramites es importante, Dios nos invita a una relación más profunda con su hijo en la que renuncia el pecado y la búsqueda de una mayor santidad en nuestras vidas. El llamado a la santidad es un llamado para conformar nuestras vidas a Jesucristo porque es solo en nuestra continua conversión que nuestra Igle-sia Católica será sanada y purificada de este pecado que ofende al Cuerpo de Cristo y destruye la confianza de tantos en la bondad de Dios. .
Como nuestro Obispo Patrick escribe, "Finalmente, les pido rezar por las víctimas y sus familias. Al mismo tiempo les pido también rezar por la vasta mayoría de los sacerdotes – del presente y del pasado – que han sido fieles a su ministerio. Ellos, también se afligen por la terrible mancha de este pecado que a perjudicado a tantos".

As we begin a new year of school and faith formation the care of our young people in teaching and living the faith in Jesus Christ is ever more important. The terrible and tragic news and reports of the abuse of trust giv-en to the Catholic Church against the most vulnerable in our families is beyond description. Last week our Bishop Patrick reminded us all of the need for vigilance in love and how our faith in God must continue to point us to the care for all and the need to live up to our calling, especially the ordained clergy as “fathers’ and ministers of Jesus Christ.
I can assure you of our diligence in caring for and protecting our young parishioners. And while following pro-cedures is important we are invited by God into a deeper and more profound relationship with his son in his renunciation of sin and the search for greater holiness in our lives. The call to holiness is a call to conform our lives to Jesus Christ because it is only in our ongoing conversion that our Catholic Church will be healed and purified of this sin that offends the Body of Christ and destroys the trust of so many in God’s goodness.
As our Bishop Patrick writes, “Finally, I ask you to pray for the victims and their families. I would also request that you pray for the vast majority of priests – present and past – who have been faithful in their ministry. They, too, grieve for the terrible stain of this sin that has harmed so many.”

Open registrations! For the children’s catechesis
We offer the following programs:
PRESCHOOL: St. Lucy offers catechesis for early childhood (Ages 3-5). Sundays from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM (in English).
GRADES K-6: Catechesis in English. The children receive the First Communion after their 2nd year of catechesis (no counting Kindergarten). Sundays from 10:00 to 11:15 AM or Wednesdays from 4 to 5:15 PM. We also offer ongoing catechesis.
GRADES 1-6: Catechesis in Spanish. The children receive the First Communion after their 2nd year of catechesis. Sundays from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM or Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:15 PM. We also offer on-going catechesis.
Register your children on time in the parish office on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am - 6pm.
