� The Israelites had done all the work just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

� David said: here I am living in a palace of cedar while the ark of God remains in a tent.

King Solomon builds a Temple for the Name of the Lord
� Solomon began to build the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah. 2 Chronicles 3:1
Solomon’s Prayer of Dedication.
Solomon prays to God:� keeps his covenant promises.� kept his promises to King David.� promised that His Name would dwell in the
Temple.� when sin is confessed at the Temple that
God would forgive those sins.� That people of all nations would hear of
God and honour Him.� That God would always hear those who
call to Him.
God replies to Solomon:� I have heard your prayer� I have consecrated the Temple and put my
Name there for ever.� My eyes and my heart will always be there.

King Solomon builds a Temple for the Name of the Lord
� Then the temple of the Lord was filled with cloud and the
priests could not perform their service because of the cloud
for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God. 1 Kings 8:10
