Message from Mr Lucht
Firstly this week, thankyou to all of the parents that attended the Inter-House swimming
carnival. It was fantastic to see so much parent support and it was equally pleasing to see
the students enjoying themselves so much and competing to the best of their ability.
Well done to all of our students and especially those that received medallions for ‘Most
Improved Swimmer”.
With the Easter Holidays commencing at the end of next week, we will only have one more
week of swimming.
Next Tuesday 27th March our P&C will be holding their AGM. It would be great to see as
many parents as possible attend. Come a long, join in and have your say.
The Easter Vacation goes for two weeks before students return on Tuesday 17th of April.
This Friday
23rd March is
the last Play-
group for this
term.
There will be
no playgroup
next Friday.

Missing Last week at the swimming carnival a
Size 8 School Shirt went missing and
may have accidentally been picked up
by mistake.
Could parents please check their
child’s shirt to see if it belongs to
them.
The missing shirt has the name
Sammy embroidered on it.
If found, could you please return to
the school.
Thanks.
Next Thursday will be our last swimming lesson for the term. Swimming will not be con-
ducted in Term 2 or Term 3 but will recommence in Term 4.
There are a number of parents who have not yet paid for swimming for this term.
An invoice for outstanding money owing will be issued to parents with this newsletter.
Please make payment by the end of this term.
Thank you.
Swimming
On Thursday 15th of March, the whole school had an awesome time competing in the Kan-
danga State School swimming carnival. During term 4, we do a swimming carnival with 2
other small schools but this one was a special carnival that gave student the opportunity to
compete in their sport houses of Cook (yellow) and Flinders (Blue). The weather was very
kind to us and we had beautiful autumn weather that was warm and partly sunny. All of the
students had the opportunity to compete in at least 2 events on the day with some children
competing in up to 4 events overall. Each competitor earned a point for their team and ex-
tra points were awarded for first, second and third. Students chose to race in either lap
lengths of the pool or width races depending on their swimming ability and confidence lev-
els. Events included stroke events, noodle, kickboard and kangaroo jumping events. Every
student that came participated. Fantastic team effort everyone!
We enjoyed a BBQ afterwards with tasty sausages from Kandanga Country Meats.
Before heading back to school, Miss Donna from the pool, and Miss Caulfield our P.E. teach-
er, awarded students from each year level with a medal for the 'most improved swimmer'
during swimming lessons for the term.
Our medal winners were:
Prep - Koby Mitchell
Year 1 - Logan Barkle
Year 2 - Kyra Mitchell
Year 3 - Bella Evans
Year 4 - Leam Davison
Year 5 - Shaelyn McKinless
Year 6 - Bodhi Nielson
The trophy for the overall sport house win, went to Cook this year. There was only 1 point
difference however so it was a very close win. Thank you to all the parents who were able
to turn up on the day and it was great to hear so much cheering from both children and
adults.
