TEAM POINT PERCENTAGE METHOD

The following is the competition team point percentage method used at Riverskate:

1st Place - 5 points 2nd Place - 4 points

3rd Place - 3 points

4th Place - 2 points

5th Place - 1 point

Points are given to the highest placing team member per event only. Team points are totaled and

divided by the number of highest placing team skaters recorded per event.

Example: Team A has three skaters in event 10.

Team B has two skaters in event 10.

Team A’s highest placing skater earned 1st Place. The team receives 5 points. Team A’s other

skaters earned 4th and 5th Place. The team receives no points for these skaters.

Team B’s highest placing skater earned 2nd Place. The team receives 4 points. Team B’s other

skater earned 3rd Place. The team receives no points for this skater.

The competition results and percentage calculations are as follows:

Team A Team B Event #1 5 4 Event #2 4 5 Event #3 5 3 Event #4 3 5 Event #5 5 3 Event #6 4 5 Event #7 3 5 Event #8 5 5 Event #9 5 4 Event #10 5 4

Add points divide by number of events

44 / 10 = 4.40 43 / 10 = 4.3

Team A gets 1st Team B gets 2nd

Ties are given the same point value as if there was not a tie.

Example: Two skaters on different teams tie for 1st Place in Event #8. Both teams receive 5

points.
