• Fife Data Sharing Working Group established to enable Public Sector services as well as third sector providers membership across Fife Agencies & Scottish Government

• Meetings held – communicating a collective vision, shared values & goals

• Template & Approach developed

From initiation to approval took an elapsed time of six months but the development of the ISP amounted to no more than 15 hours

Steps involved in Rapid DevelopmentNeed for a controlled drugs (CD) ISP identified by NHS Fife clinicians, then highlighted to and discussed with NHS Fife

Information Governance Team.

Initial meeting held on 17 July 2012. Attendees included representatives from NHS Fife (2 clinicians, 2 IG Team, 1 Local Intelligence Network (LIN) member), Fife Police Liaison Officer, and Fife Council (1 Information Policy Team

member). Agreed the scope, format, and general content of the ISP.

Second meeting held on 24 July. The NHS Fife Caldicott Guardian and a Fife Council Information Policy Team ( IPT) member worked through the template and populated approximately 70% to 80% of the text.

First draft of the ISP circulated by NHS Fife LIN member to remainder of LIN for comments.

Third meeting held on 5 September. This included NHS Fife LIN member and 2 from IG Team and 1 Fife Council IPT. Agreed the changes from LIN members’ feedback

LIN meeting on 26 September. Final draft formally reviewed by LIN members at their regular meeting

The ISP was then updated, as required, and the draft process flow included. This was submitted to the LIN meeting on 27 November, for approval

The Fife Information Governance Group met in January 2013, and provided final sign-off and approval.

From initiation to approval took an elapsed time of six months, but with the total effort across that time, for the individual co-ordinating the development of the ISP, amounting to no more than fifteen hours

Sharing of information about individuals is central to effective care and service provision across the whole service sector and our Multi Agency Partnership is working well in the Kingdom of Fife and providing a solid framework to build upon.
