SCOUT PROGRAMSWolf Cub Scouts “Air of the Wolf” Workshop Saturday, Oct. 12, 10 a.m. to noon

The time has come to investigate the invisible! Can air make sound? What is the secret to making things fly? Join us as we discover just what air can do. Wolf Cub Scouts will complete all the requirements to earn the “Air of the Wolf” adventure loop.

Cost: $12 per Scout. Deadline to register is Oct. 2.

Webelos Scouts “Earth Rocks” Workshop

Saturday, Oct. 12, 1 to 4 p.m.

In this workshop, you’ll become a geologist for the day! We’ll go on a rock hunt, identify minerals and explore geology in action! Webelos will complete requirements for the “Earth Rocks!” Webelos/AOL elective adventure pin.

Cost: $12 per Scout. Deadline to register is Oct. 2.

SUPER SATURDAYSSaturday, Sept. 14, 10 a.m. to. 2 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Join us for a Saturday of fun! Enjoy Insect Adventure’s live bug petting zoo, go wild as an OU Fit and Rec yoga instructor leads families in animal-themed yoga, make a craft, go on a Spot It! scavenger hunt and more! Don’t forget about our regular Saturday programs including Explore It! and Discovery Time. Stay tuned to find out about more special activities during Super Saturday!

Wild Yoga starts at 11 a.m. in the Hall of Natural Wonders, located on the second floor. All activities are free with paid admission.

ADULT PROGRAMSAdults Only Night at the MuseumFriday, Oct. 11, 6 to 9 p.m. and

Friday, Nov. 15, 6 to 9 p.m.

Experience the Sam Noble Museum like never before during a night of trivia, games and hands-on natural history! Have a beer under the mammoth in our Pleistocene Plaza while playing trivia for prizes and bragging rights. Explore our exhibits after hours with a scavenger hunt, work with (or against) your friends in a make-and-take challenge, perfect your selfie game at our selfie station and more! Enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar all night long! This program is for adults 21+.

Cost: $25 for members; $35 for non-members. Deadline to register is Oct. 2 and Nov. 5.

Adult Invertebrate Fossil Field TripFriday, Nov. 1, 6 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Join invertebrate paleontology curator Steve Westrop, Ph.D., for an exciting journey into Oklahoma’s Paleozoic past. Explore life in Oklahoma’s ancient oceans on Friday evening with a close-up look at some of the

museum’s finest invertebrate specimens. On Saturday morning, we will depart from the museum at 9 a.m. and travel in university vans to the site, where you will find a variety of marine fossils that you can take home. Bring a sack lunch, snacks, comfortable shoes and plenty of water.

Cost: $75 for members; $85 for non-members. Deadline to register is Oct. 23.

ANNUAL EVENTSSpike’s Spooktacular

Fall FestThursday, October 24, 4 to 7 p.m.

Spooktacular offers visitors a chance to dress in their

family-friendly costumes, earn

prizes and explore the fascinating world of natural history

at the museum. This FREE, annual event features craft tables, a photo booth and a face-painting station. Visitors will also be able to explore the museum’s galleries and interact with real museum specimens.

This event is open to the public and all ages are welcome. Admission is complimentary.

Holiday HappeningThursday, December 5, 4 to 7 p.m.

Get in the holiday spirit with cookie decorating, pictures with Santa, games, winter crafts and a blizzard of fun! This FREE, annual event features craft tables, chances to win prizes and a face-painting station. Visitors will also be able to explore the museum’s galleries and interact with real museum specimens. Don’t miss out on special discounts in Excavations, the museum store!

This event is open to the public and all ages are welcome. Admission is complimentary.

DISCOVERY ROOM

PROGRAMS

Discovery Time Saturdays, 2 p.m.Sundays, 2:30 p.m. Join us for programs geared toward preschool and elementary-age children. Programs are interactive and may include stories, crafts and discovery table specimens.

Explore It! Saturdays, 11:30 a.m. to noon Join us as we explore the what, why and how of the natural world!
