This card provides two isolated analogue channels showing the combustible gas level (in L.E.L. percentage) on two digital displays, used also for other service codes. All these information’s are converted in digital format and transmitted to the 2401-CPU Facility module. The 0÷22mA analogue input channels coming from Transmitters or Smart Sensors are connected to the input circuits (isolated amplifier) and they’re converted from voltage levels to digital values through an A/D converter (12 bit resolution) which writes digital data on the bus of the 8 bit microprocessor. The detected gas level is displayed on the digital displays, but on the front panel there are also double LED’s for the status of each channel (Ready, Fault, Warning and Alarm condition). Each information is written by the microprocessor on the input table, which is regularly inquired by the 2401-CPU Facility module, using the proprietary communication software, through a high speed RS 485 serial line. The Warning and Alarm set points are stored on the 2401-CPU Facility module by the Programming Software and during the system start-up are transferred to the 2402 card. Each analogue channel is automatically tested by the microprocessor using a diagnostic routine in order to check the correct operation of the analogue and digital logic circuits. This diagnostic procedure is performed by forcing alternatively each analogue circuit using a pre- fixed current which is read and compared with some programmed values, simulating the presence of combustible gas. In case of discrepancy, the microprocessor will detect it, displaying the Fault state and sending a Fault message to the 2401-CPU Facility module. Furthermore, to assure the correct functionality of the card a Watchdog (WD) timer circuit provides the monitoring of the card operation via a digital output. This is performed during the same diagnostic software routine by the microprocessor. The Watchdog Circuit State is displayed with front panel LED’s and available on a normally Energised (N.E.) relay with SPDT contacts (on the I/O connector). In case of a microprocessor failure, the Watchdog will turn to Alarm condition, switching off the front panel LED’s and will de-active the relay. The front card panel is composed by two displays (with 2 digits each); some double LED’s for the indication of Ready, Warning, Alarm and Fault status for each channel; serial line LED’s which display the communication condition between the 2402 card and the system; a double LED which displays the WatchDog condition; some push buttons for the execution of local commands. These push buttons permit the execution of the following actions: SEL Input channel selection INH Inhibition of the selected channel SET View set point of Warning and Alarm of selected channel TEST Activation of the an auto-test card function and front Lamp test The frontal push buttons can be used only if they were activated by the Facility 2401 module. A particular feature of this card is that it can be easily checked while powered, without affecting its normal operation and specially the system integrity. To perform all the maintenance operations the cards is provided a front connector, for the connection of the Hand Held Monitor (2490 HHM). Using the Hand Held Monitor is possible to read the set point values, read the L.E.L. level and is also possible to force the analogue inputs, in order to test the application software and logic’s. 8 (Eight) auxiliary Open Collector outputs (Max 100mA @ 30Vdc) are available on the I/O connector for the connection of relays, LED’s, or other notification devices. These O.C. outputs are activated by microprocessor following the programmed instructions, related the channels status. Card with appropriate firmware to operate the condition FAIL-TO-SAFE in case of communication or CPU failures through the Open Collector output . I
