MESSAGE FROM OPS DIRECTOR
Greetings fellow security professionals,
I cannot believe that we are at the end of January 2016 already.
It feels as if someone cut out December and we went straight
from November 2015 into January 2016. I just wanted to give a
huge shout out and say a personal thank you from both myself
and Mr De Lima for how you conducted yourself and managed to
secure our clients over the December period.
2015 was a very tough year. Both economically and criminally.
Unfortunately the outlook for 2016 does not look any better.
Even under the difficult circumstance that we operated in, we
had relatively few incidents and even less disruptions from non-
attendance. Well done guys.
When reviewing our stats for 2015, I noticed some incredible
figures. For example, over the 2015 period we made 220 arrests.
Over and above your normal security duties we also attended to
16 house fires and 21 medical emergencies. More importantly we
received over 111 nominations for our service excellence
program. Please take a minute to digest that figure. These are
nominations of security and reaction officers who have gone
above and beyond the call of duty. What’s even more special is
that these induvial were initiated by outside members of our
company.
Each and every day when we get dressed in our uniform to report
for duty our mind-set changes. It changes from that of being a
civilian to one of someone working in the security industry. What
I take out of the number of our members nominated for service
excellence that these guys are more than just working in the
security industry. They are proud of their uniform, proud of their
job and most importantly proud of the 24/7 Security family.
I’m quite sure that each and every one of you could have your
name put forward for the service excellence program. And if it’s
not, I’m even more convinced that you are proud of your
uniform, job and our family. Even with all the challenges we face,
let’s make 2016 a great year together.

CLIENT COMMENDATIONS
Dear Alex, This letter serves to express our gratitude and appreciation for a job well done for the security and caring of all the students on the Satsanga between the 5th Dec and the 12th Dec 2015.
Visiting students who attended the Satsanga came from Cape Town, Kwazulu Natal, Lenasia and Pretoria.
The students were most impressed by the way Minyulu, Mabaso, Banele, Edward, Richard and Sandile kept watch over them on both premises and while some of them walked between Salisbury House and the Dominican Convent. The ladies in particular were very appreciative of this.
A special word of thanks to them.
The motor vehicle patrols done by your team was most welcome and appreciated.
As with security there will be minor incidences, and although not serious, whenever we addressed them with you and the team, were dealt with in a most responsive and professional manner.
We wish you and the whole team a very happy and peaceful festive season.
John Curle - For and on behalf of the The Satsanga Committee
Hi there
I would just like to send a word of thanks that will hopefully go
towards Silas. He is the area manager of an enclosed area in Marais
Steyn Park in Edenvale.
Let me start by painting the picture as it may not seem like a big
thing that he did for me but I cannot begin to explain how much it
helped me:
I had no access to my car
No access to my house
No access to my phone
On Tuesday morning I parked my car and got out to do my morning
run. While locking my car I dropped my car keys and it went into the
drain. I was lucky enough to be near the boom entrance where
Silas had just arrived. I asked him for assistance and he was
eager to help me. He proceeded to help me retrieve my car key
out of the drain – I was just elated when he managed to fish my
car key out of the drain – I would have bene stranded and not
even able to go to work never mind get into my car nor home!
Just a small thing like that… The drain was deep and I was
hopeless. Then he just thought to check on the edge before the
drop and low and behold, my key was there. He literally – saved
my life.
Thank you so much!
Pam
Hi Abednico
Further to our conversation on Thursday morning, I thought I
would put pen to paper and write a letter of compliment.
As you know I am a happy customer and am very pleased with
the level of service that 24/7 provides. It is quite something
that the guys still surprise me after 6 and a half years! Last
Wednesday night I was overwhelmed with the level of care your
team took and it reinforced my perception that they really do
care about the well-being of our residents. I left the War
Museum after the FTSV AGM at about 11pm and was impressed
to see one of your Hummers standing off opposite the
entrance. Even though it was too dark to see who was inside, I
waved none the less and drove out. When I arrived home I was
greeted by one of the Parkview vehicles at my gate. Wondering
if it was a coincidence I stopped to chat to them and asked them
if their team in Forest Town had called for an escort home for
me. The guys confirmed that Jomo had indeed called them.
Honestly I am so impressed and genuinely touched by the
gesture. Firstly that the guys knew it was me and secondly that
they went the extra mile to ensure my safety.
Please extend my sincere thanks to Jomo and all involved!
Kind regards,
Vicky Drinkwater
Manager, SafeParkview
Clean Air
Painting your house? Use a latex paint. Oil-based paints
release hydrocarbon fumes.
Don’t top off your gas tank. Overfilling causes spills that
release hydrocarbons and other toxic chemicals into the air.
Plant a tree. Trees absorb carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas.
Clean Water
Use less fertilizer on your lawn. When it rains, excess fertilizer
runs off into storm sewers and pollutes streams.
Water your lawn in the early morning, when the water will soak
in and not evaporate in the heat of the day.
Don’t water more than once a week, and then only if it hasn't
rained. Established lawns need only one inch of water a week.
Clean Land
Recycle. If your community does not offer a recycling program,
ask local officials to start one.
Paper or plastic? Better yet, take a canvas bag to the grocery
and re-use it each time you shop.
Use both sides of the paper. Set your copier to make double-
sided copies and you’ll substantially reduce your paper use.

#ChangeOurWorldForGood
Instead of expressing our gratitude towards our clients with
corporate gifts, this past year we decided to look for something
that could make a real difference to the less privileged people in
our communities.
We presented our clients with yellow Arks in the form of a “Piggy
Bank” (Act of Random Kindness) asking that they fill it up
with loose change and when it is full to give it to someone
less fortunate.
