• I liked the suggestion of a pseudo NM tartan (from poster # 6) to be used on the tops and/or bottoms of the badges and other paraphernalia that we will be handing out.  Great idea!  Too bad we can't have a sash or something like that to use in Edinburgh.

USB memory stick (flash drive)

• After some discussions with Stan and Lorraine via email, 1 GB flash drive for the Proceedings and 64 MB or larger flash drive for abstracts will be prepared, if LOC agrees.

• Since the price will likely go down, we will not place the order too soon.

Physics (Science) Teacher’s Day event

• Tsuyoshi has not contacted Linda Spentzouris of Illinois Institute of Technology, the current chair of Education committee of the APS-DPB.

• Bob will contact Kurt Steinhaus, the NM State Deputy Secretary for Education (a LANL staff member on change of station). Status?

• Bob will send government relations office anemail outlining PAC07, interfaces, goals, etc. Status?

• Student support coordinator

• AV interface manager– Responsible for:

• Transferring the presentation files from SPMS or directly from the author to the local system or InDiCo.

• Checking the presentation files (fonts, animations, etc.) at the venue.

Budget

• Shirley has sent Stan a revised version a few weeks ago.

• Stan is reviewing it carefully now. Status??

Sponsorship• Normally PAC gets sponsorship from IEEE, APS, DOE, NSF and

NRL to assist us getting support for students, publications, etc.• Tsuyoshi has communicated with Karen Galuchie, IEEE

Development & Grants Officer. She suggests that we apply for a DOE grant DE-FG01-06ER06-01 (Continuation of Solicitation for the Office of Science Financial Assistance Program). The application deadline is 1 September 2006. Tsuyoshi will work on this.

• What about NSF, NRL and other sponsors? Tsuyoshi is working on the application to IUPAP (International Union of Pure and Applied Physics) (deadline 1 May 2006).

• We need to include the sponsorship info in the second email to vendors for coffee breaks, wine & beer Wednesday, students, best poster prizes, etc.

• Program for awards Wednesday Not yet.• Anyone started on a draft for the first

announcement, second announcement, abstract bulletin which will be in the smart disk and the conference guide? Not yet.

• Anyone started on a list of restaurants close to the convention center and other amenities that attendees can partake in -- or will this be part of the web site? Andrea Sanchez’s presentation.

Status of things to do in April 2006

• Selection of invited oral talks at the SPC meeting in Dallas on 22 April 2006. Bob’s presentation

• Decide entertainment events status??

• Start working on Science Teachers Day event not yet, Bob will need to write a document to describe the purpose, etc.

• Start posting various info on the web underway

• Look into the possibility of getting sponsors for conference bags underway
