ONS in Lydenburg is baie gou om te kritiseer en staan selde saam. Die kommentaar van baie mense is byvoorbeeld dat hulle nie by die plaaslike sakekamer wil aansluit nie, om die of daai rede. Dit geld ook vir organisasies soos Afriforum wat as Afrikaans beskou word. Kyk maar net hoe dit met welsyn gaan. Sopkombuise, weeshuise en ander klein groepies mense wat ander wil help, sukkel om donasies te kry en die een wil nie by die ander betrokke raak nie, weens vooroordele, wantroue of die persone betrokke. Die “grotes” gun hulle ook soms nie ’n bestaansreg nie, want dit verteenwoordig kompetisie vir skaars hulpbronne. Die kerke probeer om alle welsyn in die dorp onder ’n sambreel te plaas, maar wie is in en wie is uit? Dit is werklik ’n bedroewende stand van sake. Miskien kan ons iets leer uit die onderstaande, waar mense saamstaan.
Gedurende die algemene jaarvergadering van die Gansbaai-sakekamer het voorsitter Fanie Bothma uitgebrei oor die projekte wat hulle aangepak het en die “besonder goeie groei” in hul ledetal.
Hy het onder meer verwys na die moeilike ekonomiese klimaat en hoe dit ook in Gansbaai gevoel word.
“Die verbruiker kry swaar en ongeveer 50% van alle kredietgebruikers sit met ’n
verswakte kredietrekord. Daarom is hulle nie in staat om te bestee nie - onlangse syfers bevestig dit ook. Ons voel dit ook in Gansbaai, maar sien wel tekens van hoop vir sake-ondernemings.”
Van die sakekamer se projekte deur die jaar was:
1. ’n Vyf dag-lange entrepreneurskursus wat deur 26 gekeurde mense bygewoon is. Die aanbieder was dr. Johan Louw en die Afrikaanse Handelsinstituut (AHI) het dit gesubsidieer teen ongeveer R3000 per persoon.
“Ons moes sekere koste dra en die k e r k g r o e p e (F ra te rna l , d ie liggaam vir al die geestelike leiers in Gansbaai) het ons ondersteun deur g e r i e w e beskikbaar te stel en die spyseniering te doen.”
N á ’ n o p v o l g -ve rgader ing in O k t o b e r i s ’ n “broeikas” gestig om deurlopende ondersteuning aan d i e j o n g entrepreneurs te verleen.
“ H u l l e h e t groepleiers gekies wat nou self die strukture moet a.
benut tot hul eie voordeel,” sê Bothma.
2. Dieselfde week is ’n twee dag-lange entrepreneurskursus by Gansbaai Academia aangebied vir die senior leerders. Die kursus is ook geborg deur die AHI en aangebied deur Jannie Kruger van die AHI. Elke leerder het ’n handboek ontvang en op die skool se versoek is gereël dat die uitvoerende hoof van die AHI, Christo van der Rheede, hulle toespreek oor ’n toekomsvisie en om leerders te motiveer om hul geleenthede te benut.
Van der Rheede was ook die gasspreker by ’n geleentheid van die sakekamerlede waar hy sertifikate aan die jong entrepreneurs oorhandig het. Nog ’n gasspreker was Jannie Mouton van PSG.
3. Gansbaai was een van die eerste sakekamers in die land om ’n Memorandum van Verstandhouding (MVV) met die Overstrand-munisipaliteit te teken. Dié inisiatief het voortgevloei uit hulp wat die AHI vir die sentrale regering aangebied het om sukkelende munisipaliteite te help.
Bothma berig ’n komitee is daarna saamgestel, bestaande uit die sakekamer se voorsitter en ondervoorsitter, asook die Overstrand se direkteur van plaaslike ekonomiese ontwikkeling en direkteur van finansies.
4. Die sakekamer bou ook goeie verhoudinge met die toerismekantoor. “Ons betrek mekaar en beplan en bespreek saam aksies. Die sakekamer het byvoorbeeld bome geplant by dorpsingange en Gansbaai Toerisme het die dorp verder verfraai. Ons het ook saam aksieplanne bespreek met Wesgro.”
5. ’n Afvaardiging van die sakekamer het verlede jaar in November by min. Alan Winde besoek afgelê. Winde het aangebied om met sy departement en mense in verbinding te tree met die versoek om die sakekamer te ondersteun. Deel van die voorlegging was ’n gemeenskapsvoedselproduksie- en werkskeppingsprojek deur die Grootbos-stigting.
“Ná dié besoek het daar reeds drie staatsdepartemente in Gansbaai besoek afgelê om hulp aan te bied met die projekte. Ons het net ’n paar weke gelede ’n aanbod gekry van ’n staatsdepartement om nóg projekte na hulle te kanaliseer.”
6. Een projek wat al drie jaar lank sloer en dalk geskrap gaan word, is navorsing oor ’n visie vir Gansbaai. “Ons het dit geïnisieer en dit het beland by die Overstrand se direkteur van plaaslike ekonomiese ontwikkeling. Daar is later by die wykskomitee daarvoor as projek begroot, maar dit kom nie van die grond af nie.”
Bothma het voorts verslag gelewer oor die voordele van inlywing by die AHI. “Dit kos ons R1000 per jaar waarvoor ons vele voordele ontvang soos die R78000 vir die entrepreneurskursusprogram. Ons kry ook gratis sprekers en ontvang gereeld ekonomiese nuusbriewe en inligting oor geleenthede wat ons lede kan benut.”
7. Die sakekamer-gholfdag op Saterdag 28 Desember het die geldinsamelingskis ’n hupstoot van R16000 gegee.
8. Wat die voorgestelde Kleinbaai-haweontwikkeling betref, het Bothma gesê: “Enkele vergaderings en voorleggings is in Gansbaai aangebied, maar dit klink na ’n lang, omslagtige proses waar ons nie veel invloed kan uitoefen nie.”
Bothma het die sakekamer se bestuur bedank vir die ondersteuning en mooi gees van samewerking. Die ledetal het gegroei van in die 40 tot amper 70 teen die einde van verlede jaar.
Hy het gesê daar heers ’n goeie verhouding tussen baie van die rolspelers in die gemeenskap. “Van die sakekamer se kant af doen ons moeite om goeie verhoudinge te bou. Ons streef ook daarna om die breër gemeenskap se belange te dien.”

INWONERS van Lydenburg en Skhila het Donderdag 19 Junie hul misnoë met die Thaba Chweu munisipaliteit gedemonstreer. Verteenwoordigers van Afriforum en die media was ook daar. Soos gewoonlik, was nog die Burgermeester, nog die Munisipale Bestuurder beskikbaar om dié mense te woord te staan. Enkele amptenare was egter wel bereid om na die mense te luister. Bywoning was nie na wense nie en verskeie redes word aangevoer, soos dat die byeenkoms nie in die koerante geadverteer was nie, dat almal nie op Facebook is nie, dat mense nie geweet het nie, dat hulle nie betrokke wil wees nie, of bloot dat ons apaties staan teenoor sulke pogings om die munisipaliteit tot verantwoording te roep. Hoe dit ook al sy, ons onvermoë om solidariteit te toon, help nie ons saak nie en stuur die verkeerde boodskap aan diegene wat die boodskap moet kry.Fotos: Michelle Boshoff - nog fotos op bl 3.

The emergency services people are those whose skill, dedication and commitment goes largely unnoticed – until their expertise and courage is needed, usually in crises. DIE burgerregte-organisasie AfriForum het die premier van Mpumalanga, mnr. David Mabuza, die minister van samewerkende regering en tradisionele sake, mnr. Pravin Gordhan en die direkteur-generaal van nasionale tesourie, mnr. Jan Hattingh versoek om die Thaba Chweu Munisipaliteit, wat onder meer Lydenburg, Graskop en Sabie bedien, onder spesiale administrasie te plaas. Belastingbetalers kan sodoende insette lewer om die langdurige finansiële en diensleweringskrisis in dié dorpe te help oplos.
“Indien ons versoek geweier word, sal dit dui daarop dat politieke doelwitte nagestreef word, en dat die gemeenskappe se belang nie prioriteit geniet nie,” het Ruan Lottering, AfriForum se provinsiale koördineerder vir Mpumalanga gesê.
Volgens inligting in AfriForum se besit word verskeie diensverskaffers nie betaal nie, en dreig derhalwe dat hul dienste aan dié munisipale area sal staak. Lydenburg gaan reeds gebuk onder ? elektrisiteitskrisis.
AfriForum het in 2013 ? hofinterdik teen Eskom gekry om te verhoed dat dié dorpe se
elektrisiteit gesny word omdat die munisipaliteit nie hul rekeninge vereffen het nie. Dit bly egter onaanvaarbaar dat die munisipaliteit dienslewering in gevaar stel deur nie hulle plig teenoor inwoners na te kom nie.
“Daar sal agter die kap van die byl gekom moet word om vas te stel wat die oorsaak van dié pragtige gebied se probleme is. Indien dit toegeskryf kan word aan bedrog, korrupsie en/of onbekwame amptenare, moet dit uitgewys en die hoof gebied word,” het Lottering afgesluit.
Indien die instellings die versoek van die hand wys, sal AfriForum voortgaan om met sy regspan te konsulteer oor die moontlikheid van verdere stappe.

Elf (11)DIT is die hoeveelheid munisipaliteite in Suid Afrika wat presteer het. Elf. (11) Tien plus een. Uit 278! Dit is 3.9%. Dit is vir die ANC so ’n reuse prestasie dat Zuma hulle in sy “Stand van die Nasie” toespraak op 17 Junie spesiaal genoem en bedank het. Geen wonder piesangrepublieke in die res van Afrika steek ons op elke gebied verby nie.Die ANC voel so minderwaardig dat hy in sy toespraak
daarop gewys het dat ons meeding met Afrikastate. Ons kyk lankal na dokters in Kuba en tegnologie uit “Brics”. Derde wêreld standaarde is OK. Hulle (die regering) kyk nie eens na die VSA, Europa of Japan nie, want ons is lankal nie meer in dié liga nie. Maar ons was. So ver terug as in 1985. (Vergeet vir ’n oomblik dié tyd se politieke bestel - ek praat van landsadministrasie). Ons het ons eie wapentuig en vliegtuie gebou! Ons paaie was goed. Genoeg water en krag - ons het bygehou.Op skool kom ons nou deur as ons 65% van die tyd nie ’n “clue” het nie.
Ons gaan hospitale toe om te dood. Maar Zuma soek ingenieurs en tegnici. En hy voer hulle uit obskure plekke in. Want Europeers en Amerikaners is te wit, of te Engels of te Hollands.Dan praat ek nie van die duisende wit Engels- en Afrikaanssprekende mense wat uit werk getransformeer is nie. Ons mense, met ervaring, wat Suid Afrika en sy omgewing ken. Mense wat dinge kan regmaak en laat werk. “Nyet” hulle mag nie werk nie, want dit is Apartheid. Wat ’n onnosel sotheid! Wat het effektiewe watervoorsiening in die moderne konteks met apartheid te doen?Die paar kundiges wat nog werk het is onder die radar of dikwels “yes men” en / of ANC lakeie.So, mnr Zuma, ek wens jou geluk met jou 96.1% munisipaliteite wat nie werk nie. Mooi so!

O koud is die windjieen skraal

Koue tone, koue vingers, koue hande en koue neuse. Dit is ’n gegewe in die winter. Mens kom nie daar verby nie. En dis die maklikste aanknoop punt vir ’n gesprek. Maar niks bring soveel warmte as om tussen familie tyd te spandeer nie. Deel herinneringe aan kleintyd, hoe lekker ons gespeel het en hoe ouma ons bederf het.
Potchefstroom was die afgelope naweek ons tuiste. Vir oom Boeta Koeleman se 70ste verjaardag. Die Koelemans het diep spore in Lydenburg getrap in die begin jare. Ons het in soveel rigtings gespat, maar Lydenburg was altyd ons bymekaarkomplek oor vakansies en Feesdae. Potchefstroom het daardie selfde bekoring vir ons. Geslagte Koelemans het op Potchefstroom gestudeer. Dit was ook my Alma Mater. Tussen die familie het die koue vergete geraak met al die warm harte wat geklop het. My ma Elize was te dankbaar om by haar broer en sy gesin te kuier. En ek kon met my niggie en neef kuier, hulle het ook reeds ritse kinders waarvaan die jongste drie weke oud is.
Om herinneringe uit te deel is kosbaar. En partykeer is jy skoon verras waaraan jy herinner word. Eugene Marias was nog altyd my gunsteling digter. As julle ooit ’n digbundel raakloop van hom lees ‘Boek’... dit som jou lewe op in ’n filosofiese wyse ‘soos die ou vergeelde bladsye van ’n boek.’ As mens deur die ou Wes-Transvaal vlaktes ry voel dit of jy huis toe gaan... Dit het sy eie bekoring.Oom Boeta was dekaan van Farmasie vir jare en was aptekerswese-professor vir dekades. Min aptekers in die land ken hom nie. Die punt waar ek wil uitkom is dat ’n k o u e n a w e e k i n Potchefstroom skoon warm raak tussen jou mense. Die mense van jou hart.
RUSOORD Tehuis vir Senior Burgers het Vrydagaand ’n baie suksesvolle omgewingsaand aangebied met drie kundige sprekers en ’n heerlike kaas en wyn daarna. Die aand is gereël as deel van Rusoord se fondsinsamelingsprojekte en die drie sprekers het hulle dienste gratis aangebied. Jeanetta Selier het gepraat oor die rol van olifante in die omgewing en oor hulle bewaring. Tommie Steyn van die MTPA het vertel dat broodbome meer bedreig is as renosters en het die gehoor heelwat vertel oor hulle bewaring. Anton Linstrom het gepraat oor vleiland navorsing in Rwanda en het die uiters belangrike rol van vleilande in die voorsiening van skoon water benadruk.Drie kaartjiehouers het pryse gewen en die aand is afgesluit met kaas en wyn en heerlike versnaperinge. Dit is egter nie so maklik om met die eerste poging by die kompetisies die volgende vlak te bereik nie. Dit verg toewyding, werk en tyd. Jolene het dié keer terug gekom met die titel van Miss World Environmental Youth, asook ’n tweede plek met Miss Continent Queen de Afrique, terwyl Elaine Grobler nou weer vir die eerste keer na agt jaar self die bul by die horings gepak met hierdie kompetisies. Haar laaste persoonlike deelname en titel was Miss Bikini Body (Int) 2006. Sy het nou weer met haar eerste deelname na so ’n lang tyd dié jaar terug gekom met ’n tweede plek in Miss World Environmental Youth en derde plek in Miss Continent Queen de Afrique. Hulle wil graag net ook spesiale dank gee aan Ronell Joubert vir al haar moeite en pragtige ontwerp en die maak van die kledingstukke. Asook dat sy die deelnemers genader en geïnspireer het hieraan deel te neem. Dan bedank Elaine ook graag die volgende: Haar ma, Driekie Viljoen, wat haar ook geborg het en die sterk ondersteuning van haar man, Johan Grobler en hul dogterjie Chereese Grobler. R U S T E N B U R G – A s s o c i a t i o n o f Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) President Joseph Mathunjwa on Monday announced the details of a wage agreement with mine bosses. The announcement officially brings an end to a crippling five-month strike on the platinum belt. A signing ceremony was scheduled to take place on Tuesday. Around 70,000 Amcu members at Lonmin, Implats and Amplats went on strike in January demanding an entry-level salary of R12,500 a month. South Africa accounts for 40 percent of global platinum output. Amcu members raised their fists and chanted "yes" when Mathunjwa asked them if they wanted to sign a three-year wage agreement.However, the Amcu president said Monday's announcement does not mark the end of Amcu's battle for a living wage.“It's a better agreement and everything has to have a start. So it's a good start to show that the workers are tired of the slave salary and the [poor working] conditions.”Mathunjwa outlined details of the
agreement reached with the world's top three producers, which includes the reinstatement of 236 workers dismissed by Lonmin. - He told miners gathered at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium that three-year deals were clinched with both Lonmin and Impala.Amplats workers will receive a R1,000 monthly increase backdating to July 2013.Mathunjwa said Amcu changed the mining industry forever and that workers achieved in five months what other unions failed to do in 20 years.Miners were also given a programme outlining back to work arrangements, signalling an end to the longest and costliest strike in the history of the country's mines.He said workers would return to work on Wednesday. THE readers of Auto Bild Allrad, Germany's largest automotive journal dedicated specifically to four-wheel drive vehicles, recently voted the Toyota Hilux 4x4 the best imported pick-up available in Germany.
A total of 175 all-wheel drive models competed in ten categories including SUVs, crossovers, MPVs, sedans, hatches and, of course, pick-ups (or bakkies as they are colloquially referred to), which is where the Hilux came up trumps in the readers' poll,
Of special significance is the fact that the Hilux available in Germany is built at the Prospecton Plant in Durban where an average of around 120 000 units are produced each year - approximately 30 per cent is for domestic consumption while the remaining 70 per cent is exported to Africa, Latin America and Europe, including Germany.

IN May 2014, Wheels24 reported that GWM announced the standardisation of a five-year or 60 000 km service plan on all of its passenger vehicles. Optional plans on commercial single-cab pick-ups or an "opt-out" of standard service plans, if required.

THE race to fill vehicles with the latest technology is hurting quality. Buyers reported more problems in their new vehicles this year than last year, according to rankings released by JD Power. It was the second straight increase since 2012, when the average number of problems in new cars and pick-ups hit an all-time low.
Car companies are feeling pressure to add new technology and update vehicles quickly so they don't get stale. But car buyers are frustrated with Bluetooth systems that won't connect to their phones, voice recognition systems that don't understand them and navigation systems that aren't getting them where they need to go.
“Anytime you make a significant change to a vehicle you have the opportunity to introduce more problems,” said David Sargent, vice president for global automotive at JD Power.
Porsche, Jaguar, Lexus and Hyundai and Toyota were the best-performing brands in this year's survey. The worst performers were Fiat, Jeep, Mitsubishi, Scion and Mazda.
Sargent said younger buyers are more likely to complain about problems than

IT’s the drink that gets billions of us going in the morning – and soon coffee could be powering up our car engines, too.
Scientists have successfully created fuel from waste coffee grounds - of which millions of tons are thrown away each year worldwide.
Experts at the University of Bath found coffee has the relevant physical properties of fuel, and could be a ‘viable’ source of biodiesel.
What is more, the scientists from the university’s Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies said waste grounds - which contain as much as 20 percent oil - could become a ‘sustainable’ alternative to growing food crops specifically for biofuel, such as soy.
It is estimated that a third of the world’s population drinks coffee.
Each 10kg of waste coffee grounds – which is what an average coffee shop produces each day – makes about two litres of biofuel. Oil is extracted by soaking the coffee in an organic solvent, before another process called transesterification, which transforms them into biodiesel.
Researcher Chris Chuck told the journal Energy & Fuels: “Eight million tons of coffee are produced globally each year. This oil also has similar properties to current feedstocks used to make biofuels.”
Rhodri Jenkins, first author of the study, added: “We think coffee biodiesel has great potential as a sustainable fuel source.”

OPEL fans were in for a royal treat at the Top Gear Festival in Durban, as the legendary Stannic Group N Opel Kadett Superboss participated in the street circuit events at the world-famous event.
Featuring prominently during the heyday of South African production car racing, the Group N racer was spawned from the road-going Kadett GSi which ignited the passion for performance Opel products in South Africa in the early 1990s. This particular Superboss is owned by Farouk Dangor who raced for Opel in Group N alongside fellow South African racing greats, Grant McCleery and Mike Briggs. With its rich motorsport heritage, the Kadett Superboss is undoubtedly the father of the modern performance Opel in South Africa, carrying one of the most nostalgic road and track reputations amongst enthusiasts.
Created purely for the South African market, the Superboss was the road-going iteration of the manic racing car, built to satisfy homologation regulations of the racing series and later, ongoing consumer demand. The Superboss featured bespoke modifications including Irmscher springs, more aggressive camshafts, revised intake and exhaust manifolds, a revised air cleaner for better induction, revised engine management to optimise the various changes, a locally-developed limited slip differential and special alloy wheels - all of which not only made it a circuit racing force to be reckoned with, but also allowed the Superboss to hold the world record for the most torque per litre (a total of 228 Nm from the modified naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder GSi engine), which was only surpassed in very recent years.
Paving the way in later years for the likes of the Opel Kadett and Astra 200TS models and the more modern generations of Opel Astra OPC, the Superboss is once again revealing its wild side as it took part in the Top Gear motoring theatre. NISSAN is breaking ground with its unique electric "power unit" aboard the Nissan Zeod.
The internal combustion engine will revolutionise standards of performance and efficiency, says Nissan. The Zeod RC was the first entry at Le Mans to complete a lap of the Circuit de la Sarthe under nothing but battery power.
The automaker says a single lap of each stint (a fuel “stint” lasts about an hour) will be on batteries then the new Nissan DIG-T R 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo engine will take over. The incredibly small engine weighs only 40kg but produces an astonishing 300kW.
The basic engine is only 500mm high, 400mm wide and 200mm from front to rear. The engine is too heavy to take as carry-on luggage on a plane but it would easily fit inside an overhead luggage bin.
Nissan says the DIG-T R produces 380Nm of torque and revs to 7500. At a ratio of 7.5kW/kilogram the new engine actually has a better power-to-weight ratio than the new V6 engines to be used in the 2014 Formula 1 season.
The Zeod RC occupied “Garage 56” at the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours, an additional entry reserved by the Automobile Club of the West for new and ground-breaking technologies not seen at the classic French
endurance event.
Nissan’s global motorsport director Darren Cox said: “Our engine team has done a truly remarkable job with the internal combustion engine. We knew the electric component of the Zeod RC was certainly going to turn heads at Le Mans but our combined zero e m i s s i o n s o n - d e m a n d electric/petrol power unit is quite a stunning piece of engineering.
“Nissan became the first major manufacturer to use a three-c y l i n d e r e n g i n e i n m a j o r international motorsport. Lessons learned from the development of the engine will be seen in our road cars of the future.”
The automaker said the car was on the track earlier in January after extensive dyno testing with both t h e e l e c t r i c a n d i n t e r n a l combustion engines in place. Both the petrol and electric units run through the same five-speed gearbox that transfers power to the ground via Michelin tyres.
THE Range Rover Sport can now be ordered with a Stealth Pack on HSE Dynamic and Autobiography Dynamic derivatives from July 2014. Land Rover South Africa cannot confirm yet if the pack will be available locally.
The new kit will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next week and include a set of exterior design enhancements, among them a black front grille and surround, foglight bezels, bonnet and fender vents, side-mirror caps and a tailgate finisher.
There will also be a Stealth finish on non-reflective head and tail lights along with a choice of 21” nine-spoke or 22” five-spoke rims in satin black with wheel nuts in gloss black.

AFTER spy pictures surfaced on the Internet and a fair amount of speculation, Bentley has officially revealed its most focused car to date, the Continental GT3-R.
Following in the footsteps of Bentley’s GT3 race car, the GT3-R offers more power, is lighter and will also be limited in terms of production numbers.
Developing 426 kW at 6 000 r/min and 700 N.m from 1 700 r/min , the 4,0-litre V8 engine still sends power to all four wheels and not only to the rear axle as previously speculated. The result is a claimed acceleration time to 100 km/h of 3,8 seconds. To further aid acceleration, the 8-speed ZF automatic transmission is equipped with shorter gearing, which also results in a lower top speed of 273 km/h.
Bentley has also implemented a torque vectoring system for the first time, which allows the drivetrain to control the level of torque at each of the rear wheels. It claims that with this system, a revised chassis for optimal cornering ability, an updated electronic stability control (ESC) system and a 100 kg reduction in weight (compared to the GT V8 S), it is the “most dynamic and responsive” production Bentley to date. Even so, the GT3-R still tips the scales at 2 195 kg.
The increase in power and torque delivery is owing to new turbochargers and engine control software. Let’s not forget that this base 4,0-litre, V8 engine is the same unit powering the ballistic Audi RS7.
Exterior updates are quite notable. There is a new front splitter below the bumper and a fixed rear wing – both finished in carbon fibre. One of the most obvious changes to the exterior is the two vents in the bonnet which assist with cooling of the engine. Glacier White with the two-tone green graphics will be the only available colour combination, mimicking that of the GT3 race car. However, if your pockets are deep enough, you can still individualise your car including the exterior colour.
Aural enhancements include a new titanium exhaust system, which also saves 7 kg compared to the system on the V8 S. The massive, but lightweight, 21-inch forged wheels further aids the reduction in weight.
The carbon silicon carbide braking system is made up of 420 mm discs (the largest on any production car) at the front and 356 mm discs at the rear. The front pair is grabbed by 8-piston calipers.
Make no mistake, this is no stripped out racer for the road. Although the rear seats have been ditched, and the interior has been updated, all the luxuries you expect to find in a Bentley are still there. The interior has been updated with the implementation of alcantara leather and carbon fibre, always associated with racier models in many performance-oriented automotive manufacturers.
Only 300 examples of the GT3-R will be manufactured, which guarantees a certain level of exclusivity.
It seems in Bentley tradition the manufacturer has stayed true to its ethos of offering a luxurious, but fast car, although this time with a sportier intent.

DIT was 'n opwindende 2013/2014 seisoen vir ons Rooikat Tentpegging lede. Vele byeenkomste was aan deelgeneem en sodoende was punte opgebou om te kon kwalifiseer vir verskeie spanne.Marco Breytenbach en Sakkie Niemann was na afloop van die SA Kampioenskappe verkies tot die Divisie A span wat in Mei aan die Divisie kampioenskappe te Bloemfontein gaan deelneem het.Jannie Prinsloo was verkies tot die Internasionale afrigter van die Suid-Afrikaanse Meesterspan. Hierdie span het in Februarie in Pakistan gaan deelneem en groot was die vreugde toe Suid-Afrika as wenners uit die stryd kon tree.Rooikat Tentpegging se byeenkoms vind plaaslik op 4 en 5 Julie te Rooikatpark plaas en nooi ons alle belangstellendes om ons te kom ondersteun.
A CYCLING MTB camp was held 3 weeks ago, and Sean Schülz of SLPN, donated the beautiful bright yellow shirts with a mountain biker on the front and on the back a slogan: “ Sometimes the pain of quitting can be worse than the pain of going on. Anonymous”
We are very grateful for his support of the Hoërskool MTB team. The team is currently the leaders in the Mpumalanga leg of the Spur school series.
