Attention Attention! Mesa County 4-H Leadership Council will be hosting their annual Chili Cook-off on February 29, 2020 from 4-8 PM at the C-building! This year they have added a cake decorating contest and a soup category for those who are not chili fans! $5/entry for chili, soup, or cakes! Prizes for top 3 in each category! Your entry fee will be waved if you bring bread to share with your chili or soup! If soup-making is-n’t your thing, come and eat with us, $5 gets you a bowl and as much delicious chili or soup as you can eat! This is 4-H Leadership Council's biggest fundraiser of the year! Come support your county and bid on some awesome silent auction items!!

A reminder to all clubs: don’t forget to send your council representative! It is that officer’s duty to attend council meetings, share what’s going on in their clubs with Council and report Council information back to their clubs. If a representative from your club is not present at least 50% of all Council meetings, your eligibility for funding may be cut! Also, for every member that attends, your club gets points to-wards the pizza challenge!!

Project. (14 years of age and older) 3. Plan on taking Market swine to Colorado State Fair or

National Western Stock Show The Dates and locations are listed to the left and these are the ONLY dates available in the Tri River Area. If you can not attend any of the four you must make arrangements to attend one in another county. There will be no exceptions made nor individual trainings offered.

YGB-You Gotta Believe Livestock Camp will be returning to Grand Junction, CO, for a beef, lamb, goat, and swine showmanship clinic, May 15th - 17th.

The clinic is open to any 4-H or FFA member age 7-21. Overnight stalling and/or RV hookups available by contacting Stacy at the Mesa County Fairgrounds 970-256-1528. The Colorado 4-H Foundation is pleased to announce that applications are being received for the 2020-2021 academic year. Graduating high school seniors and current college stu-dents are invited to apply at this link, also accessible through the 4-H Foundation webpage:

Applicants will set up a secure account using the instructions on the web page. During the application process students are instructed that they need two letters of reference to com-plete their scholarship application. They will receive instructions explaining how to provide secure information to their references. Applications will be received now through April 30, 2020 and will be reviewed by the Schol-arship Committee in May 2020. Recipients will be announced on or before June 1, 2020 and there will be a scholarship breakfast for recipients and donors during the week of State Conference at CSU. classes start at 6:00 p.m. and are offered to anyone who needs help with their cake decorating project.

Please bring a cake (un-iced), cake board, frosting, and

other cake decorating tools (spatulas, tips, bags, etc.). If you are enrolled in Unit 1,

please also bring candy to decorate with. If you have cake decorating knowledge please come as your help will be greatly
