A special thanks to the Nebraska United Methodist Foundation for their $3,500 Grand to the 100 Club!
e have had another great year at the United Methodist Mens Ministry. We continue to gain support, but we
want to move our ministry to the next level. This means we are looking for donors who wish to step-up their giving to a higher level.
These are our goals: (1) Hire a part-time Executive Director. Approximately $20 an hour with 30 hours a week. (2) Develop a website with online giving opportunities. (3) Develop fundraising opportunities in each district so
we can expand our scholarship opportunities. (4) Expand our Annual Auction with more donations resulting in more scholarship dollars. (5) Send out an electronic newsletter every quarter. (6) Develop a long-term plan to endow a scholarship and administrative endowment to fund 50K in scholarships annually, and fund a part-time Executive Director. (7) Update our aging promotional video from 10 years ago.
Special thanks to all of our 2016 donors, and especially to Bette and Dwight Trumble for hosting the 2016 Annual Fundraising Dinner. This was the eighth year they have hosted at their home in Springfield, Nebraska.
We are looking forward to our partnership with the Nebraska United Methodist Foundation in Lincoln as they handle the investing of our financial portfolio. They were again a 2016 Corporate Sponsor at our 27th Annual Scholarship Dinner and Auction.
A Big thank you to the Nebraska Conference United Methodist Founda-tion for their small Ministry Grant in the amount of $3,500.
Special thanks to Bruce Chapman for his continued special talents as our treasurer.
We will be at Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island, Nebraska, on Wednesday, June 7th for our 28th Annual Scholarship Dinner and Auction.
We hope everyone can step-up their giving this year so we can move our ministry to the next level. We hope you will challenge yourself and your United Methodist Mens fellowship to join us this year.

2016 BBQ Dinner
The 100 Club was the idea of Vance Rogers, former President of Nebraska Wesleyan, who suggested that in order to start the fund we should consider getting one hundred members who will give $100 each. This idea was adopted quickly when Franklin Littlefield made the motion to adopt this mission of the 100 Club and it was seconded by Al Ebers. The motion passed unanimously. Since the inception of the idea, 1,641 United Methodist Men have given $164,100 toward our goal of 100 men and $10,000. We currently have 97 1000 Club donors and eleven who have pledged $100 per year for 10 years.
Purpose:The intended purpose of the $10,000 raised will be used to encourage young men and women to enter full time Christian service.
Vision:Our vision is to raise money to assist financially those wishing to enter full time Christian service. We believe that if every United Methodist man and woman donates to our endowment that the fund will grow and will nurture the minds of those desiring to be in full time Christian service.
Dr. Alva H. Clark made a historical motion at the 13th Annual 100 Club Luncheon when he moved that United Methodist Women be considered equally with United Methodist Men in consideration of scholarship funds that become available from the endowment fund. The motion was seconded by J. Paul McIntosh and the motion passed unanimously.
We currently have 2400 donors to the 100 Club. On behalf of the United Methodist Men’s 100 Club, we thank you for your time, talents and generosity in designing our 100 Club web page.

In Memory of Nicole Renee Spiegel-Wheeler Scholarship Fund

Nicole Renee Spiegel was born June 14, 1980 to Randy and Jan Spiegel in Kearney, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed into the Methodist Church. She later moved to Elkhorn with her family due to her father's job. She was a joy to their lives and was very independent early on. She has two younger sisters, Brooke (1984) and Lindsay (1985). Nicole was a great helper and big sister. Always a good student and very involved, she graduated in 1998 from Elkhorn High School. She later obtained a degree from Bellevue University in Journalism and Business. She married Justin Wheeler then passed away on June 1, 2003. We miss her beautiful smile, adorable giggle and will always love her. She was an organ donor.
