    Message from the Chairman-

For those that I have not had the opportunity to meetpersonally, my name is Dean Haskins. I am a long timeresident of Alabama Hill having lived here most of my life!My wife and 3 kids have lived here in our current homehere on Huron Street since 1989.

As the new Chairman of our Neighborhood Association, Idlike to thank you in advance for your support and Ipersonally urge everyone to get involved in Alabama HillNeighborhood events, whether they be political, social, environmental or whatever. If density, traffic, safety, crime, litter, graffiti or any type of threat to our quality of lifeis a concern to you or your loved ones, I urge you to getinvolved.

Some important dates to put on your calendar:

Tuesday, May 1 is our Quarterly Meeting at Bloedel Donovan Park.

Tuesday, August 7 will be our Summer Picnic at St. Clair Park. Volunteers areneeded to help in a variety of ways including, set up and breakdown. Please call or e--mail me or any Board Member if you have a Barbeque to loan out for a few hours ordesire to volunteer in any way.

Our bank account balance is low after the mailing of our last newsletter which cost about$600. As we move forward it will be very helpful for us to have the ability to contact mostresidents by email, and of course that saves us all money as well!

The Summer Picnic will have expenses and unfortunately we are now paying for the use ofthe Bloedel Donovan building for our meetings. Id like to appeal to each of you to contributewhatever you can to our non-profit organization to support our continued work on behalf of allof us on the hill.

One of my major objectives as incoming Chairman is to build our membership and attendanceat our Quarterly meetings. This will be a high priority for me so please bring ideas forward asto how we accomplish this goal. What types of speakers/programs or activities are of interestto you? Please share your ideas and more importantly come to the meetings and be a part of

the decisions made. What AHA needs is active participation. Its the people that make a neighborhood and themore we do together, the better we know each other. The better we know each other, thesafer and friendlier a neighborhood this will be for all of us. Thank you allhope to see youat the meeting this coming Tuesday at 7:00 PM!

Please feel free to call or e-mail me or other board members with questions, comments, speaker suggestions or to volunteer in any way.

    Warmest Regards-

    Dean [email protected]
