Education Week 2017
Next week is Education Week and this year’s theme, I Learn, We Learn, reflects our com-
mitment to high expectations and our focus on continuous improvement so that every
child, every teacher, and every school improves every year.
Students are at the heart of learning in NSW public schools and at the centre of every de-
cision we make in education. We want every child’s individual potential to be identified and
developed by quality teaching in a supportive and safe learning environment.
There is a lot to celebrate in Education Week as we highlight the achievements of public
education and the great work of our students, educators and the communities that support
them.
Mark Scott
Secretary, Department of Education
At Ardlethan Central School we are excited to be celebrating public education. We con-tinue to offer a wide range of opportunities to our students to ensure that they are de-veloping their learning skills every day. We are committed to our students becoming life long learners, we believe that learning is everyone's business and that together we can make a difference.
During Education Week our students will be performing at KROP on Wednesday and Thursday. The excite-ment is building, the students item is amazing, what a site it will be to see them perform their item to a full house.
We will be holding our Education Week church service on Tuesday morning, and will also be holding a Year 11 2018 Information Night on Tuesday night. Our other Education Week activities will be held in combi-nation with Book Week activities later in the term.
Stay tuned for Open Classrooms, Book Character Parades, BBQs and our Education Week Formal assembly.

RAP 15 & Under AFL On Wednesday 28th June (Week 10) RAP participated in the 15 & Under Boys AFL in Griffith. RAP was repre-
sented by 22 students from EVERY RAP school– Ariah Park, Ardlethan, Oaklands, Lockhart, Hillston and Barel-
lan which was great to see but also hard to remember everyone's names initially, especially with 2 Will’s, 2
Tom’s and 4 Connor’s in the team. Our first game was against St Francis 2. Our boys came out strong with Jack
McCormack getting our first goal after some great lead up through the middle. Nick, Ben and Bryce played
strongly in both attack and defence. Nick and Noah kicked two great goals. All boys rallied during the last few
minutes however St Francis scored a goal late in the game and we went down by 3 points. In our second game
against Narrandera our younger boys had a chance to match up against some smaller opponents everyone got
a touch of the footy or involved in a play at some point which was great to see. Our boys looked a lot more
organised with Brodie, Nick, Jack, Will, Bryce, Connor W and Ben all taking on a more senior role in the team
leading from the front. Riley Walker kicked an early goal and Nick Fairman looked like he would get a second
until it hit the middle post for a behind. Jack McCormack got his second goal late in the second half. Unfortu-
nately the boys went down by 3 goals. A massive thank you to Norm Walker for coaching the boys on the day
you did a great job and was very much appreciated. Thank you also to the parents for taking all the boys over
without your support we wouldn't be able to put a team on the field. Miss Kate Denham (HCS)

LIBRARY NEWS
Could all parents please try to remind their child/children to return their Library Books on Thursdays.
Library Classes for Mrs Fairley and Mr Carnies' Classes are held on a fortnightly basis but books can be returned every Thursday to make it easier for all.
There are a number of students with outstanding loans so could you please ask if your children have any Library Books and get them to put them straight into the school bags. Having a special purpose
Library Bag helps to keep track of Library Books. Does your child have one? We thank you for your support.
