Message from Mr. Hough
June is dedicated to
the Sacred Heart of
Jesus
Scripture Feast of Ss’ Peter and Paul, Year C
This Sunday we celebrate the Feast of Saint Peter and Paul who did great work for the Church.
Both of these men were Apostles who met with Jesus and were given authority to build Jesus’ Church on earth.
Jesus established his church as a reminder of God’s love for all people-that includes you and me too.
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus asks the disciples, “who do you say I am?” Peter realizes the truth about Jesus and
professes his faith in Jesus as the Christ- a duty which is now undertaken by Pope Francis
“Let the church always be a place of mercy and hope, where everyone is welcomed.” Pope
Francis

Visit
We had a visit from St Mary’s school Claughton this week.
St Mary’s is a very small rural school with only 39 children in the whole school. All of their
year 5 which consist of 5 children came to see life in a
much larger school in the inner city.

All of Key stage One visited Lytham St Annes last Friday. They had a wonderful time on the beach, building sandcastles
playing games in the sand, and having an ice-cream.
Christ the King Taster Day
Year 5 visited Christ the King High School on Wednesday and
had a very informative and interesting morning, with
trampolining, PE lesson and a cookery lesson making biscuits!

Message from the Head Teacher
It has been another fabulous week at school with the children continuing to show great behavior for learning and concentration despite the warm temperatures in the classrooms! Please ensure your child comes to school protected by sun cream - they can wear caps and sunglasses too. Monday is transition day when we all move up to our new classes and meet our new teachers. Good luck to Year Six as they visit their high schools on that day. Have a great weekend and keep reading! Mr. Hough
