2A East Regional Volleyball Tournament November 1st and 2nd, 2019

Moorcroft High School is excited to be hosting this year’s 2A East Regional Volleyball Tournament! We anticipate an exciting and competitive tournament this year. Please read the following information carefully. Please email tournament director, Dusty Petz at petzd@crook1.com a color (preferably a 5 x 7”) team photo by Tuesday, October 15th. Team Rosters will be taken directly off of MaxPreps on Thursday, October 17th. Please be sure your MaxPreps site is up to date with your tourney roster. The S-1 seeding form for VB, found on the WHSAA website, needs to be emailed or faxed to tourney officials (petzd@crook1.com or faxed: 307-756-3724) as soon as your conference season is completed. Deadline for S-1 forms is Sunday, Oct 27 at noon. Providing no issues arise, it is my intent to have the tourney seeded on Sunday, Oct 27th. You will then have the seeding information, game time, etc. on Monday, October 28th. Seeded brackets will be sent to the WHSAA office, MaxPreps, WyoPreps, and the Casper Star-Tribune. Packets: When arriving at Moorcroft High School, please pick up your tournament packet at the tournament table at the top stairs of the door you will be arriving at. Your packet will include: 12 player passes, 3 coach passes, 2 manager passes, 1 bus driver pass, and 3 coach’s spouse passes. If your school will be sending cheerleaders - please let me know so that we can prepare a packet for them as well. Officials: All tournament officials will be assigned by the WHSAA. Towels: Moorcroft High School will NOT be furnishing towels.

Water: Moorcroft High School will have water coolers with cups at the end of each team bench. Banners/Noisemakers: This tournament will follow WHSAA rule 4.3.5. No banners and posters larger than one person can hold. No artificial noisemakers: megaphones, clappers, etc. Please make sure your parents and fans are aware of this rule. Valuables: Moorcroft High School is NOT responsible for any lost or stolen items. It is recommended that you keep a valuables bag with you on your bench when you play. If you need something locked up more securely, please contact tournament director. Concessions: The concession stand will be open at the high school for the duration of the tournament. The concessions stand will take PO’s from participating schools, if coaches choose to feed their kids at Moorcroft High School. The menu will include some items outside the regular concessions list of hot dogs, popcorn, and candy. Crowd Control: Moorcroft High School Administration and staff will be monitoring crowd behavior. It is stressed that all parents, students, and fans will be asked to sit in the seats or bleachers of the gym. No one, with the exception of school approved cheerleaders, will be allowed to stand on the competition floor to support their team. Student and fans located in the bleachers will not be allowed to stand for extended periods of time. As with all big events, we would greatly appreciate a representative from each school to help oversee the competing crowds. Locker Rooms/Team Benches/Team Classrooms: The higher seed of the two teams playing will be the home team and will be seated to the right of the scorer’s table. If the teams that are playing have the same seed, the team that is on the top of the bracket will be the home team. Moorcroft High School has two locker rooms. The locker rooms will be utilized by the teams currently competing on the playing floor. Do not leave uniforms, personal belongings, or equipment unattended in either locker room. Locker room assignments will be posted by sign on the entry doors. Your team will also be issued a team classroom, upon arrival, that can be utilized during non-playing and pre-match times. Please use these classrooms to house your equipment, team bags, coolers, and other supplies. Each head coach will have a key to insure their room is secure at all times. Please be sure to check the key back in when you are finished playing in the tourney.

Hospitality Room: Moorcroft High school will sponsor a hospitality room for coaches, officials, tournament workers, school administrators, bus drivers, media personnel, coaches, and their spouses. The hospitality room will be located in the Moorcroft High School conference room on the top floor. Please look for signs in the hallway for directions. Pre-game Warm-up: Each match will have a 15 minute warm-up using the 6-6-3 format. Roster: No more than 12 players can be in uniform for any tournament contest. The 12 players whose names are entered in the official scorebook for the first tournament contest, shall be the only players used for the entire tournament (WHSAA rule 7.15.61). T-shirts/Long Sleeve Shirts/Sweatshirts: The Moorcroft SSB (Andrea Wood, sponsor) will be selling a limited number of t-shirts, long sleeve shirts and sweatshirts during the tournament. Information will be forthcoming on this as soon as I have it. Ticket Prices (set by WHSAA) All Day Friday: Adult - $4.00 Student - $3.00 All Day Saturday Adult - $6.00 Student - $4.00 All-Session Pass Adult - $9.00 Student - $6.00 Videotaping Videotaping can be done at the top south walkway of the high school gym. Please ask for assistance on how to get to the walkway. An electrical power strip will be in that area for school/team use. Please do not leave any camera unattended. Warm-up Volleyballs Moorcroft High School will furnish volleyballs for warm-ups. We ask that you do not take warm-up balls from the ball cart until your team takes the competition court. Balls will not be allowed in the main hallway, cafeteria or outside of the high school building. Drop off and Bus Parking All teams are to be dropped off at the north entrance of Moorcroft High School. Please take the first right when coming onto Country Lane. Busses will then be asked to park in our overflow parking lot. Please see the map that is provided.

Athletic Trainer Moorcroft High School is partnered with Gillette Physical Therapy to provide athletic training services to all of our athletes. A certified athletic trainer will be available throughout our tournament to provide help with any injuries or other training issues.
