He was a longtime member and Deacon of Ekron Baptist Church; and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Eva Pauline Brown Biddle; a son, Mike; a daughter, Gaye; and a grandson, Jody. He is survived by his wife, Verna Elizabeth Embrey Biddle; three daughters, Terri Susan (Larry) Roberts, Eva Jane Smith, both of Gus- ton, Ky., Jo Nell (Ralph) Babb, Brandenburg, Ky.; seven grandchildren, April (Alex Rose) Brown, Jason (Kristin) Biddle, Amanda (Derek) Pertuis, Angela (Todd) Perguson, Larry “Ralph” Roberts II, Mary Beth Smith, Katie (Derrick Rhinehart) Smith; and 14 great-grandchildren; his special friends, Darrell and Sandy Cornett; and his church family at Ekron Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life service was held on Nov. 19, 2016, at the Ekron Baptist Church, with Rev. Charles Blanc, Rev. Tom Bridge and Rev. Wes Pinkley officiating. She has resided in Vine Grove since 1967. Her love and devotion to her family and friends was apparent to all who were blessed to meet her as she welcomed everyone with open arms. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Tommy W. Bishop; her mother and father; three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Win- ters; two sons, Tommy E. EMERSON CHARLES BONESTEEL Emerson Charles Bonesteel, 77, of Ekron, Ky., passed away Nov. 13, 2016, at Baptist Health Floyd, New Albany, Ind. He was retired from the United States Army and the U.S. Postal Service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lori. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Hilde- gard Bonesteel of Ekron, Ky.; two children, Bry- an Bonesteel of Bardstown, Ky., Pamela Gam- brell of Victorville, Calif.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Susan, Paula; and one brother, Wayne. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Nettie Lewis and Roy Pullen, a brother Harold Pullen and a former husband Albert M. Hash. She is survived by sons: Roy “Mitch” (Sara) Hash and Clayton L. (Jennifer) Hash and daughter: Carol Jean Pullen (Jason) Matz; sis- ters: Betty Jean (Keith) Young, Wanda “Darlene” (William) Doherty, a brother Harold Pullen and six beloved grandchildren. She was a retired beautician after 28 years of service.
