    On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we thank you for responding to the 1st Circular of the International Congress of Egyptologists XI which will be held in Florence from 23 to 30 August 2015. This 2nd Circular includes updated and additional information for registration deadlines, fees and payment methods, abstract submission, preliminary program and on accommodation options.

  • PARTICIPANTS The Congress will be an open forum for all branches of Egyptology with access for junior and senior scholars. Participants will represent the broadest range and highest standards of Egyptology.

    Required title for presenting a paper or a poster: Master Degree (MA) or equivalent.

  • FULL REGISTRATION includes: In-person congress session presentation; The option to submit your paper to the proceedings, and participate in the refereeing process; Attendance to all plenary and parallel sessions; Congress welcome kit (badge, bag, pen, program, abstracts, city plans etc.); Morning and afternoon teas/coffees during the days of the Congress; Social Events; Congress welcome and farewell dinner buffets.

    * Student Registration : to register as a student please send the number and validity period of your Student Card. Please note that student IDs will be checked during registration.

    ONLY FOR EGYPTIAN PARTICIPANTS: The International Association of Egyptologists ( IAE) wil l subsidize the registration fees of younger Egyptian scholars who wi l l present papers at the Congress. These include MA graduates, PhD students, junior inspectors or museum employees, and academics at the level of Assistant Professor or University Lecturer. Depending on the number of such scholars who wil l attend, the IAE may be able to subsidize al l or a part of their registration fees. Note that only IAE members are al lowed to present papers at the Congress. Al l Egyptian col leagues who wish to take advantage of this subsidy must also be members of the IAE. Egyptian col leagues wil l be able to pay the pre-registration fee as wel l as IAE membership dues at the Congress i tself due to the dif f iculty of international payments from Egypt. Egyptian col leagues who wish to take advantage of the subsidy are required to notify the General Secretary ([email protected]) before Apri l 30th, 2015 of their intention to attend the Congress. This wil l help the IAE judge the amount of support requested.

  • PUBLISHER REGISTRATION

    Registration deadline April 30th 2015

    The Publisher (or other promotional stands) registration fee (470 ) includes: - Access to all ICE XI Congress sessions; - Access to all ICE XI social events; - A basic promotional stand with a medium size table (about 1x2m) with a power socket (contact secretary for arrangements); - Insertion of promotional material in the Congress Kit (if sent at least 1 month before Congress beginning). ATTENTION! All other types of PROMOTIONAL STANDS (i.e. excluding publishers) MUST be approved by Organizing Committee (write here for approval: [email protected]).

  • ACCOMMODATION IN FLORENCE The ICE XI Organizing Committee has decided to make available to the congress' registered delegates only, a specific and exclusive channel to book their accommodation, as well as other parallel activities, at a very special price.

    Sunday 23rd, 5:30 p.m.: Plenary opening session and Keynote Lecture (Palazzo Vecchio, Salone dei Cinquecento, n.2 on the Map).

    Sunday 23rd, 8:00 p.m.: welcome dinner buffet.

    Monday 24th Saturday 29th: Working sessions (n.3 on the Map) and key lectures (n.4 on the Map).

    Friday 28th, 8:30 p.m.: farewell dinner buffet.

    Sunday 30th: General Assembly of the International Association of Egyptologists.

    During the congress, conference delegates will benefit from a private visit to the Florence Egyptian Museum (n.1 on the Map).
