Diana Beltran Herrara:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2531133/Avian-art-Incredibly-intricate-colourful-sculptures-birds-PAPER.html

DIANA BELTRAN HERRERA (b. 1987, Colombia) is a designer and artist that has been working over the past years with paper as the primary medium in the production of her work. After graduating from her BA degree in industrial Design at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in 2010, Herrera realized that she wasn't interested in pursuing a design practice as a life career, as she was more interested in the theories of understanding of nature and material as an element that exist around us and is present in an everyday routine. For Herrera, there is a considerable distance in the relationship between human and nature, and throughout her work, she aims to repair this relation by producing elements that are constantly removed, altered and forgotten. Her work is presented as a resistance where those sculptures remain in an ideal state and act like a model of representation of a reality that doesn’t suffer any change.

Brin Edwards:http://www.the-art-agency.co.uk/gallery/portfolios/nature/reptilesfrogs/

Born in 1957 I have always been fascinated by the natural world and have had a compulsion to draw and paint wildlife for as long as I can remember. My interest in birds probably dates from my early childhood spent in Singapore where I was captivated by the colourful tropical species in our back garden. Back in the UK I also recall meeting Peter Scott at the Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust when I was about ten years old and his encouraging words for my ham fisted attempt to capture the likeness of a flamingo in crayons stay with me to this day. I went on to study Biology and Ecology at University and graduated with vague ideas of a career in scientific research. However I soon realised that I was much more interested in the way the natural world looks than in any theories about how it worked.

Colin See-Paynton:http://www.pinterest.com/pin/331859066265384119/

Artist Colin See-Paynton was born in Bedfordshire, but for the last thirty years he has lived in Berriew, Powys. He is a keen angler and bird watcher, and as a child he spent much of his time on the banks of the Great Ouse fishing for chub, pike and silvery dace.

Colin studied at the Northampton School of Art and is regarded as one of the finest wood engravers working today. He is a Fellow of the Royal Cambrian Academy, Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers and a member of the Society of Wood Engravers. He has gained international recognition and his engravings are held in many major collections. His work is based on meticulous observation of the natural world and yet it has an almost abstract quality within the intricacy of the patterning and layering of images.

Joe MacGown http://joemacgown.com/InsectDrawings2.html

I was born in Maine on June 21, 1964 and lived there until the age of ten, at which point my family moved to Mississippi. I spent many of my young days in Maine collecting insects, exploring the woods, and drawing everything I could see, including many things that no one ever sees. When we moved to Mississippi my interest in art and nature continued. After graduating from High School, I attended the Memphis College of Art for a while, but decided it wasn't for me. I worked the night shift at a local grocery and did some free lance artwork on the side for the next few years. Since March of 1988, I have worked at the Mississippi State Entomological Museum as a scientific illustrator/assistant curator.
