1. Introduction The Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon
was established on 15th August, 1990 under the Maharashtra University Act
(No.XXlX) of 1989, to establish and promote facilities for advanced and applied
education in North Maharashtra region. In the area of higher education, the
Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University has achieved a
distinctive place during the period of last 25 years. University is re-accredited and
awarded 'A' grade (3rd Cycle) by National Assessment and Accreditation Council
(NAAC), Bangalore in 2015.
The University offers various innovative academic programmes in the
faculties of Science and Technology, Commerce and Management, Humanities
and Inter-Disciplinary Studies ensuring bright career prospects and opportunities
in the academics and industries. lt is a matter of pride that 13 Schools in the
university campus have established themselves as centers of academic excellence
over the years which offers various Graduate, Postgraduate, M.Phil. and Doctoral
(Ph.D.) programmes. The Schools are well equipped with modern laboratories.
Most of the courses are industry oriented and students are getting jobs in
appropriate fields.
The University campus is spread over 650 acres of land on a hilly terrain,
11 km away from the city of Jalgaon and on the western bank of the river Girna.
Three districts viz. Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar fall under the jurisdiction of the
University. The region has its own rich cultural and tribal heritage. While
developing the site, the University has taken utmost care to preserve natural fabric
of hilly terrain. Beautifully designed spacious buildings have been constructed to
serve academic, administrative and residential purposes. More than two lakh trees
have been planted to conserve the natural beauty and environment of the campus,
for which the university was selected for the “Vanashree Award - 2000” by
Government of Maharashtra and “Indira Priyadarshini VrikshaMitra (IPVM)
Award- 2002” by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of lndia, New
Delhi.
University also facilitates various Govt. scholarships and fellowships to
meritorious, eligible and financially deprived students such as Eklavya
Vidhyadhan Loan Scheme, Financial Assistance to Economically Backward
Students, Scholarship / Freeship to SC, OBC, NT, SBC students from Govt. of
Maharashtra, Scholarship / Freeship to ST students sponsored by Ekatmik
Aadivasi Vikas Vibhag, Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Earn-and -Learn Scheme,

Student Research Scheme, Vice Chancellor Medical Help Scheme, Dr. Babasaheb
Ambedkar Hostel Student Financial Scheme, NMU Student Adoption Scheme,
etc. In addition, the School of Life Sciences independently offers Prof. R. M.
Kothari Memorial Scholarship, Shri P. G. Teli (Guruji) ‘Merit-cum-Means’
Scholarship, Prof. S. B. Chincholkar Memorial Scholarship and Late Shri.
Bhalchandra Vishnu Mendki Scholarship for needy students. The detail eligibility
criteria for the schemes can be obtained from the university/school website.
Furthermore, various Workshops and Student Development Programs such
as Cultural Workshops, Bravery Workshop, Yuvati Sabha, Yuvarang, Open
House, Avishkar etc. are also periodically organized to cater for overall
development.
University also has a dedicated Central Training and Placement Cell that
caters for the campus placement opportunities to in-campus and affiliated
institutes and colleges. Additionally, an IGNOU study center is also located in the
administrative building that provides students an opportunity to pursue various
certificate, diploma, bachelors and post-graduate distance learning courses in
addition to regular enrolled courses simultaneously (for details visit

2. RUSA Resource Centre for Inclusive Education Coinciding the Govt. of India initiatives, the university has recently established
RUSA Resource Center for Inclusive Education in the spacious building of the
Knowledge Resource Center (formerly Central Library) that works as a catalyst
between the ‘Specially/Differently Abled Persons’ (दिव्यांग) and the modern world.
Presently, the Assistive Technology Laboratory has state-of-the-art computational
facility and periodically organize various hands-on, technical and
awareness/sensitization workshops providing new avenues of education and
knowledge of auxiliary information resources for ‘Specially/Differently Abled
Persons’ (दिव्यांग) free of cost. Presently, Government of India (GOI) has prescribed
the following list of twenty-one types disabilities for ‘Specially/Differently Abled
Persons’ (दिव्यांग).

3. Definitions (a) “Application Form” means prescribed form filled up online by the
candidate for admission;
(b) “CAP Seats” means the seats filled in through the centralized admission
process (CAP) carried out by the university;
(c) “Courses” means the M.Sc. courses;
(d) “Eligible Candidates” means the candidates who are eligible for different
courses as notified by the University/Government.
(e) “Application Receipt Center (ARC)” means a Centre where the facilities
like e-verification of documents and grievances, etc., are provided;
(f) “Home University (HU)” means the North Maharashtra University;
(g) “OHU” means the area Outside Home University area;

(h) “Institutional (Management) Quota” means seats available for admission
to eligible candidates at institution level as declared by the university
from time to time;
(i) “Qualifying Examination” means examinations on the basis of which a
candidate becomes eligible for admission or its equivalent examination;
(j) “HSC” means the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Standard XIIth)
examination conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and
Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent certificate awarded by a
recognized board;
(k) “SSC” means the Secondary School Certificate (Standard Xth) examination
conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary
Education or its equivalent certificate awarded by a recognized board;
4. Sanctioned intake for various courses The sanctioned intake for first year M.Sc. courses shall be as per the
affiliation and approval given by the university.

Note: - The institute information, courses and the sanctioned intake displayed on
the website of the university by the affiliation section shall be treated as authentic
for admissions for the year 2020-2021. Candidates shall refer the website for the
revised and final institute information before filling the option/preference form.
5. Allocation of seats The percentage of allocation of seats for various types of candidates in the
Home University (HU), Other than Home University (OHU), Institutional
(Management) Quota, and Industry Sponsored Seats is as follows:
5.1 University schools
Candidates graduated from North Maharashtra University : 90%
Candidates graduated from Other Universities : 10%
Industry sponsored seats: In addition to existing seats for all courses five (05)
extra seats are allotted for industrial sponsored candidates (two (02) extra seats
for M.Sc. Chemistry)
5.2 Affiliated colleges
(a) Granted courses
Candidates graduated from North Maharashtra University : 90%
Candidates graduated from other universities : 10%
(b) Non – Granted courses
Candidates graduated from North Maharashtra University : 70%
Candidates graduated from other universities : 10%
Seats to be allotted through management quota : 20%
Industry sponsored seats: one (01) seat for first ten (10) intake capacity subject
to maximum two per course
5.3 Admission procedure for industry sponsored candidates:
1) For application under industry sponsored quota it is mandatory to fill
Centralized Admission Procedure (CAP) application form.
2) After the CAP rounds, candidates with industry sponsorship may apply to
respective university school or the affiliated college under the industry
sponsored quota with a letter of sponsorship from the industry.
3) Admission under industry sponsored quota will be done purely on the basis
of merit list prepared separately by the respective institute.
6. Reservations All the reservations given below shall be applicable to candidates belonging to
Maharashtra state only subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria
specified by respective authorities from time to time.
(a) Reservation for backward class category candidates:

The percentage of seats reserved for candidates of backward class
categories belonging to Maharashtra state is as given below. The
percentage of reservation is the percentages of the seats available for
Maharashtra candidates, coming under the CAP. Backward class
candidates shall claim the category to which they belong to at the time of
submission of application form for CAP.

(b) Reservation for wards of defence service personnel:
Five percent (5%) seats out of total sanctioned intake capacity of
university schools and affiliated colleges as a whole separately, subject
to a maximum of one (01) seat in each institute coming under CAP shall
be reserved for wards of ex- service personnel who are from
Maharashtra state.
(c) Reservation for persons with disability candidates:
Five percent (5%) seats of total sanctioned intake capacity of
university schools and affiliated colleges as a whole separately, subject
to a maximum of one (01) seat in each institute coming under CAP shall
be reserved for candidates with disability.
The allotment of seats reserved for the candidates with disability shall
be done on the basis of merit. The candidates claiming reservation under
this category shall submit the Physical Disability certificates.
Note: -Candidates with disability should note that on admission to degree
course they will not be given any exemptions or additional facility in the
academic activities other than those which may be provided by the
university.

(d) If the reservation quota remains vacant then 2% seats of total intake
capacity of university schools and affiliated colleges as a whole
separately will be offered to SBC category.
(e) Reservation for EWS (Economical Weaker Section) Candidate: As per
the provisions in Government Resolution No. राआधो-4019/Ĥ.Đ.31/16-
अ, dated 12th February 2019, 10% seats shall be reserved for EWS
candidates. These seats shall be filled by the Competent Authority
through CAP as per the policies of the Government declared from time
to time.
(f) If sufficient candidates from Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North
Maharashtra University area are not available for admission for various
post graduate courses, candidates from other universities will be
considered. Similarly, if candidates from other universities are not
available for admission, the candidates from Kavayitri Bahinabai
Chaudhari North Maharashtra University will be considered for
admission. There will be separate merit list for other university students.
(g) Any change from Government side in terms of reservation before the
commencement of CAP Round -I will be taken under consideration.
(h) Candidate once admitted through industry sponsored quota will not
be allowed to shift to general quota under any circumstances.
7. Eligibility criterions
• General criteria:
A candidate is considered to be eligible for admission to the post graduate
courses offered by various schools/affiliated colleges of the university if he/she
has secured at least 50% (or equivalent CGPA) marks at graduation (45% marks
for backward class i.e. SC/ST/DT/NT/OBC/SBC category candidates from
Maharashtra state).
• Specific Criteria:
The specific eligibility criteria in addition to above general criteria for the
admission to various post graduate courses is as follows:

8. Preparation of merit list 8.1 Assignment of merit number: - All the eligible candidates who have
submitted online application form on or before the last date specified for the
online submission and verified and confirmed their application form at
Application Receipt Center (ARC) shall be assigned a merit number. The
merit list shall be prepared on the basis of score obtained at qualifying
examination and the specific eligibility mentioned above.

8.2 Change of marks due to verification: - If the marks in the qualifying
examination are modified due to verification/redressal and the same is duly
certified by the concerned competent authority, the same shall be reported to
the competent authority for admission through CAP or its designated
representatives immediately. However, the effect of such change will be
taken into consideration only for the subsequent round(s) of admission.
8.3 Method of calculating marks at qualifying examination for deciding
eligibility: -
(a) The group wise or subject wise separate general merit list for Home
University and other than home university for eligible candidates will be
generated on the basis of their performance at the graduation as per
eligibility criteria.
(b) The marks/CGPA obtained by the candidate in principal subject at second
and third year of graduation will be considered while preparing merit list.
The marks/CGPA will be converted to 7 Point CGPA Scale.
(c) The tie cases of the candidates will be resolved as:
(i) On the basis of total marks/CGPA of second year at graduate level,
(ii) On the basis of first year marks/CGPA,
(iii) On the basis of marks obtained at H.S.C. and finally
(iv) On the basis of date of birth of the candidate.
9. Centralized Admission Process (CAP)
9.1 The stages of CAP shall be as stated below:
(a) Display or publishing of information brochure. The information brochure
shall be published on the website of the university.
(b) Grouping of subjects for online application: Candidate is required to apply
online separately for the below mentioned group of courses.

(c) Filling online application form by candidate for participation in the
Centralized Admission Process:
(i) All the aspiring candidates shall fill in the online application form for
M.A/M.Sc. admission available on the University’s website.
(ii) The candidate should read the information brochure carefully.
(iii) The candidate should fill the online application form as per the
notified schedule for respective admission.
(iv) Application fees for the M.Sc. Centralized Admission Procedure
is Rs. 300/- payable through online mode.
(v) The Candidates will be able to fill in online application form
through any computer connected to internet from home/cybercafé.
(vi) Candidates are required to fill in all the details as per the
instructions.
(vii) After filling the information and submission of application form,
he/she shall verify the data filled and correct it if required.
(viii) The application form and documents uploaded will be e-verified by
the designated Application Receipt Centers (ARC). The candidate is
not required to report to any Application Receipt Center (ARC) in
person for document verification.

(ix) Candidate can edit/update the information in his application form
before his/her application forms is confirmed by the Application
Receipt Center (ARC).
(d) Confirmation of online application form and document e-verification at
Application Receipt Centre (ARC):
(i) The candidate shall automatically be allotted an Application Receipt
Center (ARC) for e-verification of documents. The candidate is not
required to report to any Application Receipt Center (ARC) in
person for document verification.
(ii) The Application Receipt Center (ARC) In-charge shall verify the
information from the uploaded copies of required.
(iii) The Application Receipt Center (ARC) In-charge shall confirm
candidate’s application form through online system and issue the
Receipt cum Acknowledgement slip of application form in candidate
login.
(iv) After confirmation of application form information cannot be
changed by candidate.
(v) It is MANADATORY for all the candidates to do document e-
verification at Application Receipt Center (ARC), failing to do so
he/she will not be eligible to fill online option/preference form.
(e) Display of provisional merit No., submission of grievances, if any, and
display of final merit No. online.
i. Provisional merit list of eligible candidates will be displayed on the
university website.
ii. For discrepancy if any, in the provisional merit list candidates can
submit the grievances in written along with required document at
Application Receipt Centre (ARC) where candidate has confirmed
application form within the specified grievance period given in the
schedule.
iii. No document shall be accepted to substantiate the claim made in
application after scheduled dates.
iv. Final merit list will be displayed on the university website.

guarantee admission to any course.

(f) Display of available category wise seats (seat matrix) for CAP round(s)
The university shall publish the information about institutes, courses
offered, sanctioned intake and number of seats available for each category
before the commencement of each CAP round(s).
(g) Filling up and confirmation of online option form having preferences of
courses and institutions before CAP round – I/II/III. Candidates may fill
minimum one and maximum thirty choices of institutes and courses in
decreasing order of their preference. The option form once confirmed by the
candidate through their login shall be considered for allotment for that CAP
round and cannot be changed for that particular CAP round. The candidate
should fill fresh option form for the each CAP round(s).
(h) Display of provisional allotment of CAP Round indicating allotted institute
and Course.
(i) During the CAP rounds(s), before accepting the allotted seat a candidate can
opt to ‘FREEZE, or ‘FLOAT’ the choice of academic program for
subsequent round(s), of seat allocation, as provided below: -
i) Freeze: Candidates accept the offered seat and they do not want to participate in any further rounds of seat allocation. Such
Candidates will not be considered in subsequent rounds of
admission.

ii) Float: Candidates accept the offered seat and indicate that, if admission to an academic program of higher preference in any
Institution is offered, they will accept it. Else, they will continue
with the currently accepted academic program. Such candidates
will be considered in subsequent rounds (Round – II and III) of
admission.
फ्लोट: उमेदवार त्ाांना देऊ र्करण्यात आलेली जागा स्वीर्कारतील आवण इतर र्कोणत्ाही सांस्थेमधे्य वरच्या पसांतीक्रमाच्या शैक्षवणर्क अध्ययनक्रमाला प्रवेश देऊ र्करण्यात आला तर, तो स्वीर्कारतील असा वनदेश र्करतील.अन्यथात्ाांनी स्वीर्कारलेल्या शैक्षवणर्क अध्ययनक्रमदेखील स्वीर्कारतील, अशा उमेदवाराांचा त्ानांतरचा प्रवेश फेऱ्यामधे्य ववचार रे्कला जाईल.
iii) For Candidates who choose the Float option, and secures a seat of his choice of higher preference, then it would automatically result
in the forfeiture of the seat accepted by the candidate in the earlier
round.

(j) Reporting and accepting the offered seat (confirmation of admission) as

3) For industry sponsored seats (wherever applicable), the fees will be Rs. 40,000/- per
year in addition to regular fees of the respective course.
4) Any changes from Government in terms of scholarship from time to time will be
applicable to various courses and reservation categories.
10.2 Affiliated Colleges
Candidates are advised to contact the concerned college for detailed fees structure
for the course.
11. Allotment of seats by CAP round – I, II and III (a) All the CAP rounds (CAP round– I, II and III) shall be conducted by
computerized allotment.
(b) If the seat remains vacant due to non-allotment and non-reporting for
admission, such seat will be considered for allotment in subsequent round.
12. General Provisions
(a) The allotment list displayed on website will show the provisional allotment
offered to the candidates. No personal communication or allotment letters in
this regard shall be issued to the candidates.
(b) Allotted seat will be cancelled if at any time, if any of the documents or
certificates is found to be invalid or fraudulent and/or the candidate does not
meet the eligibility norms.
13. Admissions in institutional (management) quota
The Director/Principal of the affiliated college shall carry out the admissions for
these seats in the following manner. -
(a) Admissions shall be made in a transparent manner and strictly as per the
merit of the candidates who have applied for CAP.
(b) Application for institutional (management) quota should begin after
completion of CAP rounds.
(c) Aspiring candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria as notified by the
university, from time to time, shall apply to the Principal or Director of the
respective institution for admission at the Institution level.
(d) The institution may give admission to the applicants on the basis of their
merit derived from merit list declared by the university.
(e) The institution shall prepare and display the merit lists of the candidates to
be filled in at the institution level, in the institutional quota, on the notice
board and shall publish the same on the website of the institution.

(f) The institution intending to surrender the institutional quota (in part or full)
of specified courses to the CAP shall communicate five days before the
display of seat matrix of CAP round - I and the same shall be allotted as per
the rules of CAP.
14. Institution level round
If the seats remain vacant after all CAP rounds, the said seats shall be
filled in by the institution through institution level round with the prior approval
of the university.
15. Refund of fees after cancellation of admission
(a) The candidate shall apply for cancellation and submit signed copy of application
for cancellation of admission to the institution.
(b) After receiving admission cancellation request from the candidate, the institution
shall cancel the admission immediately online and generate online
acknowledgement of cancellation of admission through institution login and issue
a signed copy to the candidate.
(c) No candidate will be allowed to cancel his/her admission without paying complete
fees of the course for which he/she got admitted.
(d) The candidate cancelling his/her admission within a period of seven days from the
date of his/her admission, deduction to the tune of 10% of total amount of tuition
fee plus Rs. 500/- will be made towards administrative processing charges.
(e) The candidate cancelling his/her admission within a period of 30 days from the
date of his/her admission, deduction to the tune of 25% of total amount of tuition
fee plus Rs. 500/- will be made towards administrative processing charges.
(f) The candidate cancelling his/her admission after the period of 30 days from the
date of his/her admission, refund towards any kind of fees will not be made.
(g) No refund will be made to any candidate admitted through industry sponsored quota.

18. Miscellaneous Provisions
