The CDM Project (Clean Development Mechanism) in the Tres Hermanos Field is the result of the collaboration of two great in-ternational companies: PEMEX and STATOIL. Its purpose is re-duction of greenhouse gas emissions and sale of carbon bonds. Registered in 2010 before the UN, aimed to comply with the guide lines of the Kyoto protocol, it is a flagship project for the partici-pating companies. Both design and engineering in this facility are highly innovating, ensuring the use of their most advanced tech-nology in order to separate, compress and transport gas.
Construction was handled by the Nuvoil - Valerus Joint venture, began operations in 2012; Reinforcing and aligning to our envi-ronmental care policy.
Prevents emission of 15,000 tons of CO2into the atmosphere each year.
