Quick closing valve systems

LK Valves quick closing valve systems are used worldwide onboard all types of vessels and rigs/platforms, to generate an instant closure of all flow in the system in case of emergency. As required by SOLAS chapter II-2, regulation 4, 2.2.3.4 quick closing valves are installed on tanks containing inflammable liquids.

Our quick closing valve is equipped with a unique, multifunction release cylinder. This means besides mechanical release the user can choose to use the valve for pneumatic or hydraulic execution. The release cylinder also has an integrated fire release, which means that at 178C a melting ring generates an automatic and instant closure of the valve in event of fire.

CONTROL STATIONS A control station is installed in a safe area and will enable instant and remote closure of the valves in case of an emergency. The equipment is installed as a system, put together with matching and fitting components and designed for full reliability, easy use, long lifetime and customized to your requirements. Our control stations are available in pneumatic or hydraulic versions.

LK Valves pneumatic control station is available as standard 30 bar execution, to be charged with compressed air from the start air system. The cabinet is equipped with one or more internal air vessels with air volume to guarantee closure of all valves at least twice in case of an emergency situation, without any need to recharge from an external supply of compressed air.

The pneumatic control station is a modular system

that can be customized to your requirements, offering complete flexibility.

LK Valves standard hydraulic control station holds up to six manually operated handles, which in turn are able to release up to six valves each. The system is a closed circuit hydraulic system independent of any external power. Each handle has a separate oil reservoir, isolating each group of valves in order to increase safety. This also allows us to easily customize the hydraulic control station to your requirements, offering a tailor made system.

Our hydraulic control station combined with our unique release cylinder offers a reliable solution to common challenges associated with static pressure due to variations in mounting height between the handle and the release cylinders.

LK Valves control station cabinets are available in mild steel or stainless steel, with breakable glass window and a hammer.

VALVE MONITORING SYSTEM Combine the control station with our valve monitoring system to get a complete and flexible system showing open and/or closed position for up to 80 valves in total. Read more about our valve monitoring system in chapter 4.
