PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Dear Foundation Members,
It has been an honor to be in the role of President of Zonta Brisbane City Heart as we establish the launch of the Foundation, a first for a Zonta Club in Australia.
This Foundation aligns with our clubs values of finding progressive ways in how we operate, to better met both our club and Zonta International vision of envisioning a world in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential. In such a world, women have access to all resources and are represented in decision making positions on an equal basis with men. In such a world, no woman lives in fear of violence.
Through the Foundation we will be able to aim higher with our fundraising goals and reach further with our ability to help those in need in our local community.
Thank you for your continued membership and support as we reach for these goals.
Yours sincerely,
Virginia Bishop

Section 2 Governance
OUR OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
In this the inaugural year of the Foundation our focus was in gaining all relevant accreditation and approvals.
We then moved to establishing all appropriate governance documents. They are:• Appointment of Governing Body Policy;• Conflict of Interest Policy;• Financial Management Policy;• Induction of Governing Board Policy;• Investment Strategy;• Objectives;• Partnership and Sponsorship Policy;• Privacy Policy;• Risk Management Policy; and• Volunteer Management Policy.
We also started the initial stages of formulating the Foundations official launch.
THE FUTURE
As we head into the next financial year we will be officially launching the Foundation on November 1st, auspicious-ly in the month of the 100th birth year of Zonta International.
We will also lay out goals and parameters in fundraising and giving for each financial year.
We will create a Foundation Charity of Choice platform were club members can join in the process of putting forth proposed charities and vote to choice the charity for the Foundation for the next financial year.
We will find ways to increase our audience of donators, such as approaching corporations with aligned values and monthly giving programs.
We will make it easier for people to donate, without straining our volunteer base, by updating the website to house a donation portal that will generate tax deductible receipts.
We will be actively looking for Sponsors to help meet our associated costs and ensure that 100% of donations reach the Foundations Charity of Choice .
We will maximise any media and PR opportunities to not only talk about the work that Zonta does but also pro-moting the Foundation.
