2. Telecommunication Relay Services (TRS) is a telephone service that allowsperson with hearing or speech disabilities to place and receive telephonecalls. This can be accessed by simply dialing 711 or 800-743-3333 inIndiana.What forms of Relay Services are available? TTY A conversation between a Text Telephone user (TTY) and another party, with the use of a Relay operator. Voice Carry Over Call for individuals with a hearing disability, but can use their voice and have the Relay operator type the response back through a TTY. Speech-to-Speech (STS) For individuals with a speech disability to communicate with other through a specially trained communications assistant. All of the Above 3. Correct! However, so are all the others, try againText-to-Voice TTY-based TRS With this type of traditional TRS, a personwith a hearing or speech disability uses a special text telephone, called aTTY, to call the operator at the relay center. TTYs have a keyboard andallow people to type their telephone conversations. The text is read on adisplay screen and/or a paper printout. A TTY user calls a relay center andtypes the number of the person he or she wishes to call. The operator at therelay center then makes the telephone call to a third party, and relays the callback and forth between the parties by speaking what a text user types, andtyping what a voice telephone user speaks. 4.
