Southern Comfort clinched First Place for the second consecutive year at the 31st Annual Treasure Cay Billfi sh Tournament (TCBT), June 25-28 at Treasure Cay Beach, Marina & Golf Resort, Abaco, Bahamas. Owned by Peter Angel, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Southern Comfort caught the lead when they released their second blue marlin on the last day of the tournament. Big T’s Too took Second Place with a blue marlin release the fi rst day the tournament, earning owner Bob Wolsey, Sarasota, FL the Top Angler trophy based on time. In the Fun Fish Division, Chui owned by Agostino Campi, New York City, NY won the Top Wahoo trophy with a 16.5 lb. fi sh and Top Tuna with an 18.5 lb. blackfi n. Big T’s Too grabbed Top Dolphin with a 23.9 lb. fi sh, also winning a $1,000 bonus award from Rubis Bahamas, Ltd. Known as the best tournament value in the Bahamas, the TCBT is a modifi ed release tournament with three days of fi shing, parties and dinners. Tournament anglers donated $2,200 to the Treasure Cay Primary School. Sponsors included Rubis Bahamas, Ltd. and Treasure Cay Beach, Marina and Golf Resort. Co-sponsor/offi cial weather provider was Weather Routing, Inc. Offi cial Fighting Chair was Pompanette and Bristol Cellars contributed to the cocktail parties.
