Located 1,300 meters above the sea level, Oksibil Solar Power Plant is the highest installed solar power plant in South East Asia. Providing the electricity for the newly developed area in Oksibil – Pegunungan Bintang, Oksibil Solar Power Plant is one of the first Solar Power Plants built by PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PT. PLN) the state-owned utility company of Indonesia for Papua and West Papua area.

With its high-level of difficulty, including its remote area where all components must be flown by the only DC7 plane able to land in Oksibil short-airstrip, Oksibil Solar Power Plant is also aspecial achievement by PT Industri Telekomunikas Indonesia (INTI)

The area has been relying on diesel power plant to generate power. However, it was costly and challenging to ensure the reliable supply of diesel. PT PLN, decided to build an off grid solar power plant. With 1,280 solar modules, the plant has a 300 kWp capacity.
