    P.I.G. HAMMER MILL

Hammer mills are characterised by their considerable grain size reduction ratio. They are suitable for handling clay of any kind, ceramic mixtures with a high content of aggregates and raw materials with a low to medium hardness. These mills arecomposed of a thick sheet metal casing, housing on the inside a set of circular and lateral armours coated with wearproofmaterial; a rotor carrying the grinding hammers that are made of a special long-life alloy; a lump crushing hammer unit andspecial steel sizing grids.

This Hammer Mill is available in different versions (P.I.G./A, P.I.G./B, MAXI/P.I.G.) and configurations (P.I.G./Dryer - WorldPatented) to adapt to different requirements.

The Hammer mill is ideal for the rough milling of raw material at the beginning of the raw material preparation process, but

also suitable as finishing mill thanks to its low level of wear and above all its low consumption with respect to traditional mills,edge-runner mills and roller mills.

Both in the field of pressed and extruded ceramic products, P.I.G. Hammer Mills are appreciated for giving the ground productthe right degree of refining.

Furthermore the resulting shape of the ground product guarantees a better resistance of the finished green piece.

    P.I.G. DRYER

P.I.G. Hammer mills can be used for the closed-cycle pre-crushing and milling of raw materials with humidity content of up to12-14%.

This possibility is granted by the application of a heating system on board the mill with automatic control of the electrical andheat parameters, in order to optimize consumption and improve performance.

In some cases, the PIG Dryer type, thanks to their special system, eliminate the need to purchase a specific drying system.

    P.I.G. HD

The HD P.I.G. mills have joined the P.I.G. Mill family, which maintain their high standard in particle size reduction butdramatically increase productivity characteristics, durability and easy maintenance. A hatch with a hydraulic opening has beenadded to the robust base structure already provided in the standard version, where 2 significantly higher dimensioned

calibrating grids in metal sheet plating are housed.

The ample front hatch can be opened by means of a hydraulic device that facilitates inspection and a safe replacement of partssubject to wear & tear. To further improve the mills output (greater particle size reduction or reduction in grinding time) therotor shaft has been fitted with special SKF supports with oil lubrication, specifically designed to operate at a high speed and

temperature, guaranteeing effective protection from impurities, with optimal lubrication, easy replacement of parts and alonger durability.

    AKULA CRUSHING SYSTEM

The AKULA system is composed of a P.I.G. grinding unit and a drying/mixing unit. After the pre-grinding of the product, takingadvantage of the combined effects of the mechanical turbulence of the raw materials moved by means of paddle stirrers andfrom the exposure to hot air, a rapid and effective drying process is obtained. The drying occurs immediately so that theinitially very wet material does not tend to adhere to the walls. The central body of the machine consists of double steel tank

and the main dynamic parts are 2 horizontal shafts.

The movement of material inside the tanks is achieved by means of completely adjustable paddles fixed to the shafts, made ofcarbon steel and coated with high resistant wear-proof material. A direct flame burner with furnace in refractory material isused for heating the drying chamber. The insulation of the drying chamber is with suitable material to maintain the internal

working temperature at approximately 400C giving the external structures and covers adequate insulation. To optimize powerconsumption, an air-exhaust fume exchanger is installed and it is made with high resistant carbon steel pipes able to pre-heatthe burner entrance air.

The system is equipped with an environmental filter to clean the air exiting the drying chamber and for the recuperation of

    dried material.
