Science & Discovery

Discovery Corner

The children picked the animal that they would like to draw and decorate.

However, only part of the animal face is drawn.

They had to draw the other half of the face and add in the details such as the eye, ear, nose and mouth.

Fun & Movement

Mass Activity

Learning to work together as a pair!

Children were tasked to transport the ball from one side to other…

Without using their hands during the journey!

Side to side…

Front to front!

The children needed to cooperate with each other and pace themselves as they walk!

301 Upper Paya Lebar Road S(534934) Tel:6287 1209 Fax:6287 7980 Page 14

Love 1 & 2

Practising high knee march during our warm up…

And off to the obstacle course we go!

Lifting our legs up high and over the hoop on the chair…

Jumping in and out of the hoop on the floor and over the blocks…

301 Upper Paya Lebar Road S(534934) Tel:6287 1209 Fax:6287 7980 Page 15

And over the elevated hoop again!

The Love 2 children were challenged to hold a stick

on their second round while they complete the obstacle course!

This is to develop their balance

as they are prevented from holding the chair when they cross over the elevated hoops.

Joy & Peace

The children were divided into 3 teams, each starting from their own ‘home base’ (a box drawn on the ground).

House rules were laid out:

- Only pick up 1 stick at a time.

- No pushing

This game to test the agility, reaction time and strategic thinking

It was divided into 3 rounds of different difficulty levels.

The total number of sticks for each team was counted at the end of each round.

301 Upper Paya Lebar Road S(534934) Tel:6287 1209 Fax:6287 7980 Page 16

Round 1: At the cue, everyone will run to bring as many sticks back to their home base.

Round 2: Adding on to Round 1, the children can now take the sticks from other home bases!

301 Upper Paya Lebar Road S(534934) Tel:6287 1209 Fax:6287 7980 Page 17

Round 3: A defender is assigned by each team to protect their base!

Staying inside their base, the job of the defender is to tap the opponent who took the stick from their base.

Once caught, the stick has to be returned to the defender’s base.

A test of integrity as well!

Some forgot to defend and left their base unattended! Oh No!

Aesthetics (Cooking)

Ingredients all laid out and we are ready to toast our bread using the SANDWICH MAKER …

They all made their own sandwiches … IT WAS EASY PEASY ….

Just a few instructions – take a plate; put 2 slices of bread on the plate;

1 slice of ham on 1 piece of bread; 1 slice of cheese on top of the ham;

cover with the other slice of bread …& PRESTO !

Aesthetics (Music & Movement)

Love 1 & 2

Songs:

a) “The Octopus Song”

b) “Elly The Elephant”

Singing the nursery rhyme- “Elly The Elephant!”

Elly! The Elephant,

Goes this way and that,

She's so very big,

She's so very fat,

She sways her trunk,

From side to side,

She takes us for a jolly ride.

Ooh … yums

words….

The Love children did really well swaying their “trunks” from side to side!

They even trumpeted when they raised their trunks after the nursery rhyme was sung!
